    So from the start, his parents didn’t even hate him or think of him as trash, but this country sure has some messed up laws and social standards if they have to lie to hide Soma’s existence, and then lie again to bring him back into existence.

      They are part of the problem, they even agreed to make that decision. I dont blame them for making those decisions, but i blame them for failing to take proper actions to reduce the amount people/potentials.

      Not only did the stamp low tier skill olders as trash, they even deemed unique/unknown title/skill holders as trash. They didnt even put resources to research it. Soma even asked some questions at the start, but his “teacher” failed to answer him.

      All in all. I just want the people in that country to learn that Soma was abandoned because of his non-special rank skill, but ended up being far stronger than any special rank holder. I bet those who were discriminated would start a rebellion

        Personally, as far as I see it Soma should have let the country and his to DNA donors burn and die that country and those sorry excuse of DNA donor have no right to keep breathing. They do it for they’re country?, Bullsh** they do it to save they’re own reputation credibility nothing else. Any country that forsakes it’s own children DOES NOT DESERVE TO HAVE A FUTURE. such a country should be set to fire and left to burn.

    I don’t relly understand soma’s fake parents what their thinking. They think of him as a tool or a thing. And don’t want to recognize him. Why not make an anouncement that there is a strong wanderer that its sole purpose is to annihilate the remnant demons and be with it. Instead they want all the praise and give all the shit to soma. I really wiah that they died from the dragon before soma arrived.

    As always the author is vague to the point it makes your head hurts.

      His parents are not treating him like that. It’s just that they involved with the foundation of the country. One of the important value (probably similar to Constitution) is to emphasize people with skills because the country gained independence not very long time ago. That itself to recruit talented people to stay in their country.

      Now, what if the next successor of the founding fathers household doesn’t have skills. I guess it will bring huge disgrace to them since they are important figures.

      To make things worse, if the fact that people without skills may be better than people with skills is publicized, especially the son of the founding fathers, that will break the value. People will start questioning the treatment toward people who have no skills. That can explain why Soma’s parents took that kind of measure.

        Removing him from succession due to this reason is fine and dandy, but treating him as if he doesn’t exist is just ridiculous. You can publicly announce that your child is a disgrace and can’t inherit, but that is no reason to act cold in private. I don’t like what the author did here as an excuse for Soma’s childhood. In the end he just undid the past with this reinstatement when the parents personality isn’t as evil as he made us think at the beginning.
        The cold treatment of his childhood means literally nothing to Soma or the story all it does is make his parents guilty when they could easily have just treated him nice in private.
        I really don’t like what they did here.

      I assume they don’t want to publicized is as strong wanderer because many countries will try to recruit him and he will be further away from the parent.

      They might as well announce him as another distant son so that anyone with interest need to go through the parents.

    Thank you for the chapter.

    I’m sure Lina will be disappointed that Soma is being called her half-brother instead of the child of an unknown and deceased retainer (which is another possibility they could have chosen). After all, she is a bro-con, and if Soma is her (supposedly, legally) half-brother then he is still too close in terms of blood, while if he is (supposedly, legally) the child of some unknown retainer then she could have pursued a relationship.

    So for now it seems the potential harem will continue to be limited to Aina and Sheila.

      Well he is already her half brother. And no harm will include her as well. Realistically the risk of defect for a baby between brother and sister full blood at that is barely above 2 total strangers assuming of course it’s not a family habit that is but a one off relationship wouldn’t be a risk genetics wise.

      Don’t worry, knowing Souma and his making the impossible possible, he can probably just change his own genetics or blood with his swordsmanship because after all he can easily heal fatal wounds and broken bones with his swordmanship.

    It occurs to me that they may be claiming Soma as half-son so to allow them some influence over his future – specifically to be able to block other nobles (or even royals) from controlling or manipulating Soma’s future. Given the two of them are famous, they could not claim him to be the son of a relative without the lie sooner or later being found out, and if they claimed he was the son of a retainer then the king could claim greater sovereignty over Soma’s future and place Soma under his own control. But as a son of Kraus – even the son of a supposed mistress – then Kraus and Sophia retain final say over Soma’s future (well, at least to the extent that local customs and laws allow).

    As I recall they are required to send their children to a certain school – one Lina was avoiding by pretending to be too ill to attend. With her presence at the battle, that lie is probably revealed (or likely to be revealed), so I guess the next arc will send the two of them to the school (the institute?). I’m not sure what will happen to Aina and Sheila, but perhaps the parents can use their influence to make sure their children’s friends can attend the school with them?

    Just a few issues I noticed.

    “would become existed again.”

    Should be “would exist again.”

    “It was easy to make someone didn’t exist officially, but it was impossible to undo it.”

    Should be:
    “It was easy to make someone not exist officially, but it’s near impossible to undo it.”

    is it possible to change to “boy” or “kid” instead of “guy”
    when the parents are referring to Soma?
    its just feel very distant, it feels like Sophia is treating Soma as an stranger adult instead of a child.
    or will the nuance change so you can’t?

    About the behavior of Sophia and Kraus: It’s a Japanese thing…

    Disinheriting a son who is seen as unfit is a real thing there: The owners/presidents of companies like Suzuki and Toyota usually disinherit their biological sons and adopt an adult subordinate, which is made to marry the daughter of the president and replaces the biological sons as heir… They don’t go as far as to make the real son “disappear”, but you can bet if a son were considered shameful for some reason, he would be hidden from the world just like Soma…

    As for not speaking with him and acting like he doesn’t exist anymore, that’s a thing too: In Japanese culture, if something is too painful, uncomfortable or shameful to bear, they often try very hard to act like that thing doesn’t exist, and that includes people too…

    Children in Japanese orphanages aren’t usually real orphans, but children whose parents can’t or don’t want to take care of them, and leave them there “temporally” (because openly admitting that they are abandoning them forever would be too shameful), and never come back (again, because they are ashamed to tell that to the officials, and because they try very hard to not ever think about those children ever again…).

    Heck, Japanese society as a whole tries very hard to ignore those children exist at all…!

    Many hikkimoris are largely the same thing… they often are kids with serious personality disorders or who go into depression or who suffer bullying, and the parents try to ignore the problem rather than seeking help, and when one day the kid locks themselves in their or her room, they 1.-blame him and 2.-eventually pretend they don’t exist and stop interacting with them…

    Not everybody reaches that level of of jerkassiness, of course, but on the other hand, nobody finds any of that unusual or bizarre or abnormal… it is just something that happens…

    As for Soma, I hope he doesn’t allow his parents to take advantage of his skills and goes to some other country…
