The Kururuan Dragon Empire

The Kururuan Dragon Empire was the oldest country in the western part of the continent as of Year 2000. It was a country with a history of more than 1000 years which was rare in history. However, the Ananta dynasty, which was started by the founding father, Ananta I, was cut off at the end of Year 1108. There had been several civil wars and the dynasty changed internally. The dynasty at the time of Year 2000 was called the fifth Ananta dynasty, but at that time, it was called the later Ananta dynasty.

Ananta I was born as a child of the mayor of a small village that was currently part of the Kururuan Empire. According to the founding myth of Kururuan, Ananta was born with the blessing of the dragon spirit, Vasuki.

As soon as Ananta was born, five dragon kings landed in the village.

A dragon king was a flying dragon between the ages of 100 and 200. Flying dragon species, which lived in desolate arid areas, often die of disease or territory fights before they reached the age of 100, but particularly strong individuals grew even larger after the age of 100.

Dragons over the age of 200 were called old dragons, and the existence of three dragons, including the wild ones, had been recorded in history, but their existence was doubtful. Actually, when the dragon was over 150 years old, it gradually became difficult to fly due to the decline by aging. When it became impossible to fly, the flying dragon became sick like a horse with a broken leg, and eventually died debilitatingly. So, currently, they were considered difficult to live until the age of 200.

It was necessary to grow the living creature named the flying dragon from the egg, because if it grew in the wild, it would never get used to the people. The eggs were obtained mainly by artificial mating and egg collected from wild dragon nests when Ananta I lived. Of course, all of the flying dragons rode by the dragon knight were raised by humans from eggs.

Therefore, in order to produce a dragon king that was familiar to people, they had to train the dragon king that grew up in the wild. But that wasn’t possible, so humans must continue to feed and grow the dragon for 100 years. Anyhow, the flying dragons that grew in the breeding environment tend to have bad health due to lack of exercise, lack of specific nutrients and poor hygiene environment of the breeding stable. The rate of growing up also was lower than those who grew up in a natural environment. Therefore, the royal dragon that was familiar with humans was a very valuable creature both at present and in the past.

The reason why the name of the dragon king was given was it was supposed to be the king’s possession due to its preciousness. At the same time, it also meant ‘the king of nature’. The dragon king that was familiar with humans was the king’s possession except in some cases, but the dragon king that grew in the wild was just ‘the king of nature’. These wild dragon kings were very dangerous when Ananta 1 was born, and they were troublesome wild creatures.

For wild flying dragons, the territory itself moved slowly by changing the nest once every few years. Even after growing up and becoming a royal dragon, its nature didn’t change. The royal dragon moved to a vast territory that fit its physique once every few years.

For humans, even if they stay away from the territory of the dragon king, their village would be in trouble if the territory changed due to the next change. As a matter of course, the village would be a hunting ground for it and people were eaten. The dragon king was an unreasonable and terrifying threat to humans.

In Year 2000, a method of ‘dragon hunting’ used various techniques and practices, but around 950 when Ananta I was born, there was no such method. At that time, it was necessary for the king to start a national army to exterminate the wild dragon king.

It was said that it was necessary to sacrifice about 10 dragon knights, 20 cavalry and 300 infantry to get rid of one dragon king. The method at that time was the dragon knights intercept the dragon king in the air, and when the dragon king landed on the ground, the cavalry charged and broke its wings. For the last steps, the infantry would defeat it with human wave tactics, so the sacrifice was always there. The damage was often not worth the safety of a single village, so it was actually left abandoned unless the location was a strategic point or city.

So, even one of them could create such a situation. Therefore, in Ananta’s village where five wild dragon kings landed at once, it was basically a hopeless situation. The villagers would stand back in despair while feeling confused. Speaking of the five dragon kings, it was a force that was difficult to hunt even if all the armed forces were mobilized, and approximately, one village could be obliterated by a single dragon breath.

However, it was said that when the five dragon kings surrounded Ananta’s birthplace, they lowered down their heads like when a dragon lowered its head to lead the dragon knight to its back. Later, Ananta grew up as a born king, and as a matter of fact, when he built his own country, he quickly conquered countries as he was accompanied by a dragon king.

Regardless of the truth of the founding myth, it was a historical fact that Ananta I made effective use of dragons and won many wars. Ananta I built the vast Kururuan Dragon Empire in his generation. By the time he reached 60 years old, only the Xerxes God-Protected Empire remained an enemy in the surrounding countries.

However, Ananta I never tried to go against the Xerxes God-Protected Empire.

The God-Protected Empire was vast and extended to the west end. Although he was confident that he would win the war once or twice, he thought it would be impossible to invade the entire territory and bring it to destruction.

If he died in the middle of the conquest, it would leave the country to the untactful sons. It didn’t change the fact that he would fall. Ananta I thought it would be smarter to maintain peace than to create a breeding ground for future problems.

In world history, Ananta I was a hero who was often compared to Kanjar Khanate. What made him completely different from Kanjar was that he made an effort to solve different sides of the domestic affairs.

However, in the end, the two countries ended up in wars. A man named Catholic Wichita, who had entered the country for the purpose of studying the Isus theology, found a sleeping place for the prophet Isus in the territory.

At that time, the Kururuan Dragon Empire which had been a vast territory, had already absorbed most area where Isus was active during the Isus era.

Religiously, the country inherited the polytheism of the ancient Nigros city-states, but with the rise of the Xerxes God-Protected Empire, the missionary momentum of the Isus religion became stronger and the number of Isus believers was on the rise.

Since Ananta I had consistently spared diplomatic concessions to the Xerxes God-Protected Empire, he had fully accepted the pilgrimage of the sacred sites and visits by researchers, including the ancient city, Johanpurtoki. (At that time, there were five sites that seemed to be the remains of the Johanpurtoki, and it was thought that one of them was probably Johanpurtoki. However, a later literature confirmed that none of them were Johanpurtoki, and the theory was disapproved.)

The place where Isus died was on a less popular coastline where there were only small fishing villages scattered around. The sacred cave on the inconspicuous hills along the coast was closed with sun-dried bricks at the time of discovery. It was said that the entrance was beautifully assimilated with the scenery.

Upon the discovery of the sacred cave and as a result of confirming the sacred body of the prophet, the Xerxes God-Protected Empire sent an army. When the army was placed on an uninhabited coast, they began to send craftsmen and materials one after another and built a harbor there. The cave and the coastline were connected by the walls, and a town was started to be built between the walls.

There was no prior notice of the series of actions and no declaration of war. If they defended their actions, they would have been eager to protect the most irreplaceable of all things that they finally discovered.

If it was a remote area far away, Ananta I might have handed over the place in exchange for gold or another territory. However, unfortunately, the sacred cave was located near the royal capital of the Kururuan Dragon Empire. If a city where a large army could be stationed was created near the royal capital, it would surely become a disaster in the future. Even Ananta I, who had compromised them until now, couldn’t forgive it.

However, the war didn’t occur immediately. Ananta I set up many negotiations with high-ranking officials of the Xerxes God-Protected Empire to seek a peaceful solution.

Ananta I issued various conditions, such as protecting the sacred cave and accepting pilgrims unconditionally, and to jointly move the sacred body with Vaticanus. However, all those proposals were in vain. The Xerxes God-Protected Empire didn’t make any slight compromise in the series of negotiations.

They thought it was a great sin of the world to prevent the sacred body from sleeping, by moving the sacred body to another place. Of course, it was outrageous to entrust the safety of the sacred body to another country.

In other words, what they wanted was to maintain the status quo, and the negotiations for them were to transfer or buy the land or negotiate the amount of the lease. On the other hand, the absolute condition on the Dragon Empire side was the withdrawal of the expeditionary force and it’s defenseless of the city. It was natural that the negotiations started on a parallel line, and there was no room for negotiation between the two sides from the beginning

For Ananta I, who desired peace, the discovery of the sacred cave was nothing more than a calamity. The collapse of the negotiations would eventually separate the two major powers at that time.

The Xerxes God-Protected Empire naturally made the Kururan Dragon Empire, which was trying to destroy the great sanctuary discovered by Catholic, a divine enemy. All of the national power was poured into defending the sacred place, but various factors cause disadvantages and defeat. When the sacred body of Isus was moved to Vaticanus on the brink, the sacred body was enshrined in the cathedral church and was renamed as the Holy Sleep Shrine. But, the defeat became a distant cause, and the empire itself disappeared in the end.

On the other hand, Ananta, who saw the fanaticism of the Xerxes God-Protected Empire, hated the Isis religion and strongly protected the Cocolulu religion that occurred at the same time. After the war, Ananta I completely destroyed the city created nearby to the sacred cave, and then, stripped all the relics of the place, where the sacred body had disappeared, and it was sent to Vaticanus.

This was a precaution against grave robbery and it was a measure to avoid being held liable for protection later. And when the empty sleeping cave was closed tightly, the persecution of the Isus began.

The Cocolulu religion, which was currently worshipped in the Kururuan Dragon Empire, was founded by a girl possessed by God. With 1000 years of history, Cocoris was born just 100 years after the birth of Isus. The girl, who had a solemn voice disproportionately to her age when she entrusted the word of God, had her parents write the words uttered. The words were summarized as a new scripture and it became the original scripture of the Cocolulu religion.

In the Cocolulu religion, under the Supreme God, there were eight lower Gods, each of which had their own personality, and below that, there were archangels serving them. In Isus religion, Isus was the God. There was one lower God and the ancient God. There were two of eight lower Gods stated in the Cocoris’ scripture of the forgotten gods.

The Cocolulu religion was strongly protected by Ananta I, who felt that polytheistic cohesion was inferior to monotheism, and it spread throughout the country. The new religion spread among people as if water in a desert that soaked into the sand.
