Chapter 187

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

With the end of summer vacation fast approaching, our final challenge began on this late August day. It was the last day we could livestream from inside the dungeon. Up until today, we had been carrying out requests we received from the guild. We had to include our recruitment advertisement by seven o’clock tonight, or we would incur a small penalty.

The more eager parties had already completed theirs, and some had even streamed multiple times for extra security. They were well-prepared, looking ahead to their future activities. According to Muze, “We already announced that we would broadcast on the final day, you know? It is only natural for others to avoid that date!”.

Apparently, the various contacts Mira mentioned referred not only to the guild and the Self-Defense Forces but also to viewers and fellow explorers. She truly was thorough. As soon as the guild opened at six in the morning, we took our gear out of storage, changed clothes in the dressing room, and were now warming up in the plaza before the dungeon.

Livestreaming inside the dungeon officially began at seven. Right now, the Self-Defense Forces were desperately transporting relay devices to the stairways of each floor. It seemed that neither the government nor the Self-Defense Forces had expected any party to actually request broadcasting from the seventh floor in this trial.

Normally, such a thing would be flatly denied, but Mira somehow made it happen by contacting each and every relevant organization. The power of the nation truly was terrifying. Japan, having yielded to pressure from Germany, had inadvertently placed an additional burden on the Self-Defense Forces. I truly felt guilty about that. This had all been my idea, after all. My apologies.

Today, we were scheduled to stream everything from the moment we entered the dungeon to when we reached our destination and inserted the recruitment advertisement. It would be a completely real-time broadcast. Except for breaks, everything would be streamed live. During breaks, of course, we needed to take care of personal matters, and we would get scolded if we did not cut that part out. I certainly did not want that being broadcast over the airwaves.

Still, there were an unusually large number of people gathered in the plaza today. Since I was not using the Magic Eye, I looked around while stretching. If I had activated it, I could have checked without even turning my head, but using skills outside the dungeon was considered bad manners these days. The incident at the embassy had been a perfect example. Well, everyone still used their skills discreetly when they could get away with it.

“Hey, Haruka, isn’t the crowd unusually big today?” (Kouta)

“Huh? That’s because they came to cheer for us.” (Haruka)

“What?” (Kouta)

I was stunned by Haruka’s reply.

“Master still does not understand his own position, you know. Haruka, please cover for him somehow.” (Muze)

“Understood, leave it to me!” (Haruka)

Muze said apologetically to Haruka.

But I could barely focus on that. From early morning, a massive crowd had gathered in front of the dungeon. Looking closely, I saw members of the Self-Defense Forces working hard to keep the people in order. Thanks to them, no one could get too close to us.

This is unbelievable. Are all these people really here to see us?

As the tension rapidly grew, I felt my consciousness begin to fade.

(“Kouta, take a deep breath, you know.”) (Muze)

Hearing Muze’s whisper, I desperately followed her instruction and managed to stay conscious.

Amidst the distant buzz of the crowd, only the gentle touch of Muze’s hand soothingly patting me calmed my heart. Closing my eyes for a moment, I focused solely on that sensation and worked to recover my composure.

(“It is time, you know.”) (Muze)

Muze’s voice reminded me of my role.

“The ‘Dungeon Philharmony’ shall now commence its advance toward the front line!” (Kouta)

“Oh!” (All)
