Merchant Noble is out (1/3 chapters for today)
Spy Yuna’s Daily Life
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
Yuna’s day started early. She woke up before the sun rose, and it was still dark.
She lived in the same mansion as Arc and Marie, with her own room. It felt a bit awkward living with the newlywed couple, but Arc had asked her to stay with them because he valued quick communication.
She quickly walked through the quiet, still-sleeping First Town, heading for her first stop, the Sheeb Order facility at the edge of the city. From the outside, it looked like a regular house, but it was where all the information gathered by the Warden Household’s network was collected.
“Good morning.” (Yuna)
“Good morning, Yuna. Here you go.” (??)
When Yuna knocked on the door, the Order member in charge handed her a note with some information.
At the facility, information from the Order members working undercover across the kingdom was collected. Yuna went there three times a day, once in the morning, once at noon, and once before bed. Each time, there were about ten pieces of information.
The pet of the daughter of the Count of XX has died. Baron XX’s wife has found out about his affair. Viscountess XX’s favorite food. And so on.
At first, these seemed like unimportant details, but whether they were useful or not was decided by Arc. Yuna didn’t make that decision. She just passed the information to Arc.
“Good morning, Yuna.” (Arc)
“…Good morning, Arc-sama.” (Yuna)
When Yuna returned to the mansion, Arc was already awake. She handed him the information.
“All good.” (Arc)
Arc glanced over the information and handed the papers back to Yuna. She, then, burned them in the furnace in the backyard. Once Arc had read the papers, they had to be burned immediately to keep the information secure. This happened three times a day.
“Yuna-chan.” (Marie)
As Yuna watched the papers burn, she heard someone call her from behind. She turned around in surprise and saw Marie.
“…Marie-sama. Good morning.” (Yuna)
“You wake up early every day.” (Marie)
“…Yes, it’s my habit.” (Yuna)
Marie looked into the furnace.
“You’re always burning something. What are you doing?” (Marie)
“I’m burning documents I no longer need.” (Yuna)
“Three times a day?” (Marie)
“…Yes.” (Yuna)
“Hmm.” (Marie)
Arc hadn’t told Marie that Yuna worked as a spy. He’d probably mentioned that Yuna gathered information, but not that she received reports three times a day in real-time from all over the kingdom.
Why? Maybe Arc didn’t want to worry his wife. Or maybe he didn’t want the royal family’s daughter to know too much.
Well, it wasn’t something Yuna needed to worry about. She just followed orders. Even though Marie seemed suspicious, she didn’t press the issue. Arc, as a noble, must have had his reasons for keeping some things secret.

Before noon, Yuna was called by Arc.
“Yuna. Take this to Hangue.” (Arc)
“…Understood.” (Yuna)
There must have been something important in the morning’s report. Arc handed Yuna a letter for Hang, the head of the Warden Trading Company. Yuna took the letter to the Order facility.
“…A letter for Hangue of the Warden Trading Company.” (Yuna)
“Got it. I’ll deliver it.” (Order Member)
A different Order member from the morning took the letter and left the facility right away. When Arc sent a letter, it was delivered immediately. The speed at which the Warden Household transmitted information was thanks to the hard work of the Sheeb Order.
—
“Ah, Yuna.” (Yulia)
“…Yulia.” (Yuna)
On her way back from the facility, Yuna stopped by the dining hall to drink some cold water. There, she saw Yulia, Arc’s bodyguard.
Yuna and Yulia often worked with Arc, and they spent a lot of time together. Both were quiet and serious, so they got along well. They didn’t call each other friends, but they never felt awkward with each other.
“…Where’s your guard?” (Yuna)
“Arc-sama and Marie-sama were having such a good time together, I decided to give them space. I’ll go back after I have some sweets.” (Yulia)
In peaceful Mikanda, Arc was very unlikely to be attacked, so Yulia’s guard duties were light. However, Yuna and Yulia tried to stay close to Arc for security. Yuna quickly went back to the mansion.
Thinking about Yulia’s words in the dining hall, she entered the house carefully. Since she was living with the newlywed couple, she had to be careful not to interrupt their private time.
“What’s wrong?” (Marie)
“…!!” (Yuna)
As Yuna was peeking into the room, she was startled by a voice from behind. She turned around and saw Marie, looking concerned. Marie always called out from behind Yuna, which made Yuna jump. For someone used to secretive work, it was always a shock to be spoken to from behind.
“…Are you done already? …Ah.” (Yuna)
“Done with what?” (Marie)
Not realizing Marie had been standing behind her, Yuna asked in surprise. Marie seemed confused at first, but when she saw Yuna’s actions, she quickly understood what had happened. Her face turned bright red.
“W-Who would do something like that this early in the morning?!” (Marie)
“…Sorry, my mouth slipped.” (Yuna)
Marie puffed her cheeks, still embarrassed. Seeing Yuna looking so flustered, she couldn’t resist teasing her. She quickly changed her tone.
“I didn’t know Yuna-chan had a habit of peeking. Just make sure not to do it after dinner.” (Marie)
“…I don’t have that habit.” (Yuna)
Now it was Yuna’s turn to blush. She tried to deny it, but it wasn’t very convincing since she had actually been peeking just moments before.
“I see, I see. …Should I tell Arc-sama?” (Marie)
“…Please don’t…” (Yuna)
Teasing her, Marie enjoyed watching Yuna’s reaction. Yuna knew Arc would understand she wasn’t into that kind of thing, but it was clear that this teasing wouldn’t stop anytime soon.
“Sorry, sorry. You just react so well that I couldn’t help myself.” (Marie)
“I’m back. …What’s going on here?” (Yulia)
Yulia, who had just returned from the dining hall, was dumbfounded to see Yuna and Marie facing each other in front of the room.
“…It’s Yulia’s fault, to begin with.” (Yuna)
Yuna gave Yulia a glare, but Yulia seemed completely unaware of what was going on. She looked at Yuna with wide eyes.
“Lunch is ready!” (Servant)
A servant’s voice called from the dining hall. It was time for lunch.
“Arc-sama has business at the university, so we can eat without him.” (Marie)
Marie happily announced that the three of them could eat together.
“…Yulia, you were eating sweets earlier.” (Yuna)
“Well, I got hungry.” (Yulia)
“You really… It’s a special lunch, too.” (Yuna)
“Don’t worry, I can eat it all. I’ll never leave anything behind. And it’ll turn into muscle!” (Yulia)
Yulia was a big eater. Since Arc and Marie were around, she couldn’t go for seconds, but when they weren’t home, she was usually in the dining hall.
“Since it’s just the three of us girls, let’s play together after lunch.” (Marie)
Marie happily grabbed Yuna and Yulia’s hands and swung them around.
“I want to go for a swim. I worked up a sweat during my training this morning.” (Yuna)
“…I’d prefer horseback riding.” (Yulia)
Yuna and Yulia shared their wishes. At first, Yuna had been unsure about Marie’s invitation, but now she was able to openly say what she wanted.
“Let’s decide after we eat.” (Marie)
The three of them held hands like sisters, talking amicably as they entered the hall.
