“Saintess-sama… it is truly good that you are safe…” (Wilfred)

“Thank you very much. I always believed that Your Highness Wilfred would come to save me…” (Christia)

Yes, it’s me, Harold. Right now, I’m watching this farce, called Wilfred and Christia flirting, with my eyes rolled back, along with Xandra. As for Lorenzo, the story is that he tried to kidnap the Saintess, but when he realized Wilfred and his group were closing in on this warehouse, he had no choice but to leave the Saintess behind and flee. The kingdom, unaware of this, is desperately searching.

“Honestly… it was good that Wilfred was the first to notice that the Saintess-sama was missing and deciphered the coded message left behind. If he’d made a mistake, it could’ve easily led to conflict with the Holy Kingdom…” (Cardis)

Cardis, pale-faced, let out a sigh of relief and shook his head. However, Cardis’ gaze towards Wilfred became somewhat lukewarm, likely meaning this man’s evaluation of the protagonist had skyrocketed.

How amusing. Oh, of course, the coded message was something we prepared beforehand. I asked Xandra to quietly drop it on the floor the moment we realized Christia had been kidnapped. While Wilfred was busy decoding the message, Xandra joined up with us.

What did the code say? I don’t know the details since I left it to Xandra, but it took them quite a while to arrive at the warehouse, so I imagine it was pretty difficult. I’ll ask her later.

“And yet, you left Saintess-sama alone and went off somewhere. People like you are a disgrace to the royal family.” (Cardis)
“…” (Wilfred)

Wow, ever since I left Cardis’ faction, he’s stopped holding back in the way he talks to me. Still, this is probably what he really thinks of me anyway. But honestly, Wilfred didn’t even notice Christia was missing, either. Shouldn’t he be scolded equally? That would be fair, right?
Though, no matter what I say, they’ll just keep finding excuses to criticize me.

“Well… Saintess-sama, if you stay here too long, Lorenzo might come to take you again. Please, don’t ever let go of my hand.” (Wilfred)

“Yes, please do.” (Christia)

Sigh. I can’t watch this anymore. Let’s just leave this to Wilfred and hurry back to the royal palace ourselves.

“Xandra?” (Harold)

“Hehe, well done. As expected, you are a truly wonderful person.” (Alexandra)

“Ahaha.” (Harold)

Well, I guess the fact that Xandra’s evaluation of me went up because of this incident is the best outcome. With this, once the main story of ‘Enhaz’ starts, there won’t be any broken engagement events, right? Right?

After we returned to the royal palace, by order of King Eibar, Lorenzo Salvatori was declared a wanted criminal throughout the kingdom. It seemed the kingdom aimed to earn the trust of the Baltian Holy Kingdom by showing they were fully addressing the situation rather than covering up the incident.

Well, since he’s already turned to ash, he’ll never be found, though. Wait, now that I think about it, won’t the kingdom get labeled as incompetent since they’ll never catch the culprit?

Incidentally, Wilfred was hailed as a hero who prevented the kidnapping of Saintess Christia in the capital. King Eibar, after hearing the details of the incident, was especially pleased and seemed to want to put Wilfred on a pedestal.

“Well, things have really escalated, haven’t they?” (Harold)

And so, I was currently having tea with Christia. Of course, Xandra and Carla were here too.

“Hehe… I never expected His Majesty the King to do something like this. It was completely unforeseen.” (Christia)

Christia held her hand to her mouth and chuckled. However, her emerald eyes were not smiling, but rather filled with anger.

Well, I can understand her anger. After all, no matter how much they want to elevate Wilfred, they even fabricated a romance with Christia.

“But since you’ve been interacting with Wilfred like that ever since you came to the kingdom, isn’t it inevitable that some would misunderstand?” (Harold)

“…As for me, I just found him easy to handle.” (Christia)

So, Christia sees Wilfred as an ‘easily manipulated fool who mistakenly thinks he’s brilliant’. While he might have some talent in personal strength, she thinks his self-esteem and vanity are high, and at the very least, he’s not clever. Quite a harsh evaluation.

“Isn’t that exactly what he deserves? If you wish, I can put all my effort into making sure you’re truly bound to that scum.” (Alexandra)

“!? T-that… could you please forgive me already…?” (Christia)

Christia’s face turned pale as she was met with Xandra’s gaze, which was as cold as absolute zero. That being said, it was really just what she deserved.

“Hehe… thank you so much for going out of your way to come here.” (Christia)

“…” (Harold)

As soon as my match with Carla ended and I returned to my room, one of the priests visited and rudely summoned me. Though it was a bother, as the host, I couldn’t refuse outright. Ignoring the priest’s somewhat impolite attitude, I came here nonetheless.

“Actually, I have a favor to ask of Your Highness Harold… If you accept, as the Saintess, I would be more than willing to ensure you a more comfortable environment within the kingdom.” (Christia)

“I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re saying.” (Harold)

“Hehe. We know your position within the kingdom, as the ‘incompetent bratty prince’ that you are.” (Christia)

This one remark struck a nerve with my favorite fiancée.

“Your countless insults toward my Haru-sama deserve a thousand deaths.” (Alexandra)
