Surrender (2)

The peasant rebellion of Randal, which continued for a long period and mobilized many nobles, ended in this way. Upon learning that Randal was captured by Tyr, the rebel force completely lost the will to fight and opened the castle gates. The rebel force, which had been reduced to around 4,000, all surrendered to the punitive force.

Knowing that the rebel force had opened the castle gates, Tyr immediately ordered Mia to rescue Laika. Mia and the adventurers entered the castle, passing by the peasants who had thrown away their weapons and were coming out one after another, and found and rescued Laika, who was on the verge of death from malnutrition.

As Mia was coming out holding Laika, the punitive force was entering the castle. Mia and the others, who had been informed in advance of what would happen next, avoided eye contact and quickly exited the castle. When Mia got outside the castle, hell had already begun.

The punitive force, no, the kingdom force had no intention of forgiving these peasants. It seemed they intended to make an example of what happens when a rebellion is raised. The kingdom had prepared a bounty for each head of the rebel force. In other words, the more they killed, the more reward they would receive.

This time, Tyr was the leader of the punitive force, but the majority of the punitive force were soldiers of other nobles. Of course, the nobles who had previously been completely defeated by Randal also participated. The grudge from their previous defeat, and the bounty. It was enough to make the soldiers run rampant.

“Mia-san…” (??)

“Do not look. Cover your ears. This is too strong a stimulus for us adventurers.” (Mia_

Mia said briefly to her frightened subordinate adventurer.

The rebel force was massacred. They were thoroughly killed. The rebel force that had first left the castle, the rebel force that could no longer move inside the castle, and even the castle’s inhabitants, who could not be distinguished from the rebel force, were all slaughtered.

Mia rode her horse, focusing solely on shutting down her senses. Amidst the soldiers fighting over corpses for bounties.

“Stop.” (??)

Suddenly, a soldier on horseback blocked Mia and the others’ way. He was wearing luxurious armor, so there was no doubt he was of the command class.

“Who are you all with? You’re not part of the rebel force, are you?” (??)

“I am Mia, an adventurer under Tyr Warden.” (Mia)

When Mia bowed her head and showed the Warden Household crest, the opponent hastily sheathed his sword.

“Oh! Of the supreme commander! I apologize for my rudeness.” (??)

They didn’t want Laika, who was being carried on the horse, to be noticed. Mia lowered her head to leave as quickly as possible.

“Wait!” (??)

Had they noticed Laika? Though sweating coldly inside, Mia turned around without showing any sign of it. However, it was about a different matter.

“Won’t Tyr-dono’s unit come? The more we kill, the more rewards we get from the kingdom.
It’s as if there’s gold lying around in the castle right now.” (??)

“Tyr-sama will not participate. He said it was to thank the nobles who supported him as his subordinates.” (Mia)

She hadn’t heard anything like that from Tyr, but thanks to her habit of always talking about anything, she managed to say something that sounded plausible.

“I see. Then, we will gladly take it. I envy merchant nobles for having so much money.” (??)

Finally, they received a comment that could be interpreted as either genuine or sarcastic and were said. In this way, Mia and the others were able to return safely with Laika.

When Mia returned to Tyr, she immediately reported that they had successfully rescued Laika and that they had been stopped by another noble’s soldier on the way. Tyr was pleased with the success of the rescue, but he frowned at the fact that soldiers from another unit had seen them.

“They saw you?” (Tyr)

“On the way back here with Laika-chan after rescuing her, we were stopped by a soldier of commander rank. I feel like there was also some kind of crest written there, but please forgive me, I have no idea which crest belongs to which noble. The person didn’t mention anything about Laika-chan, but since they were speaking to me, Laika-chan, who was riding on my horse, must have naturally caught their eye. Whether they were curious about her or not, is another matter.” (Mia)

“I see. You did well. Take a rest.” (Tyr)

“Thank you very much.” (Mia)

Tyr thought for a while, then nodded once, thanked Mia, and let her leave.

There was nothing that could be done about what had been seen. To avoid future trouble, it was necessary to take some kind of action immediately.
