After finishing his discussion with Hausar and Rishu, Arc hurried back to the mansion. Ever since Rishu arrived, Minerva had been extremely agitated, and he needed to comfort her.
“What happened? You came back looking like a demon.” (Tyr)
Tyr was waiting for Arc’s return. Having been caught up in Minerva’s storm without knowing the circumstances, he was very confused.
“Where is Minerva now?” (Arc)
“She’s in her bedroom, crying.” (Tyr)
Arc hurried to the bedroom door, took a breath to compose himself, and knocked gently. He knew there would be no response, so he entered.
“Minerva, I’m coming in.” (Arc)
The room was dark, with the lights off and the curtains closed. Minerva was sitting on the bed.
“Minerva…” (Arc)
Arc sat beside her and put an arm around her shoulders, but she turned her face away. He gently lifted her chin with his fingers, turning her face toward him. Her tear-stained face was marked by clear traces of tears, and her eyes were bloodshot. Arc took out a handkerchief and gently wiped her face.
“You’ve cried so much. It ruins your beautiful face.” (Arc)
“And whose fault do you think that is?” (Minerva)
“What didn’t you like?” (Arc)
“The fact that you don’t realize that.” (Minerva)
Minerva’s speech had reverted to how it was before she received merchant training. Now, she was just an ordinary girl. Due to her father’s rigorous education, Minerva had become a very graceful and capable girl, but she had always had a tendency to drop her façade and show her true self when it came to Arc.
“Well, don’t be so mad. Rishu was a great help during my merchant days. Thanks to her, adventurers flocked to buy from our store.” (Arc)
“Help? Even in taking care of you on the bottom half part?” (Minerva)
“Minerva, you shouldn’t say such things.” (Arc)
Intending to comfort her, Arc found himself reprimanding her instead. Although not to the extent of their father or brother, Arc adored his sister greatly. Hearing such crude words from his precious sister was shocking. Minerva seemed to realize the crudeness of her words after being scolded by Arc. She looked momentarily startled but then became defensive and angry.
“Why are you siding with that woman adventurer who suddenly showed up? I don’t know you anymore!” (Minerva)
There was only one way to calm Minerva, who seemed about to throw another tantrum and that was for Arc to hug her tightly. Minerva flinched at first but gradually relaxed. Minerva’s body was delicate. Holding her like this brought back memories. When their sister Yanna was involved in business with their father and their brother Tyr was at the military academy, young Minerva would cry, feeling lonely, and Arc would often comfort her like this.
After holding her for a while, Arc looked at Minerva. Her beautiful face was close, and he apologized.
“I’m sorry.” (Arc)
“Have you realized what you did wrong?” (Minerva)
“Not really…” (Arc)
“Good grief.” (Minerva)
Minerva chuckled and gave Arc a kiss on the cheek. Startled, Arc pulled back, which made Minerva laugh.
“You haven’t done anything wrong, Onii-sama. I was just being jealous.” (Minerva)
“Minerva…” (Arc)
Arc patted her head gently.
“You are my sister. I care for you more than anyone else.” (Arc)
“I’ll remember those words. It’s a promise.” (Minerva)
Somehow, Minerva’s tone had returned to its usual polite manner. The girl who had been sobbing earlier was gone, replaced by the usual Minerva. Thus, their sibling quarrel came to a peaceful end.
