New chapter of Plant Magic Lord is out! (2/2 chapters)
Indomitable Piyo
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
After leaving the Zanzas booth, Stella and her group proceeded to the next one. The crowd had noticeably thinned.
“Ah, Dia-chan smells like tomatoes.” (Audrey)
At the moment, Audrey was the one holding Dia.
“Piyo. I used the soap here, piyo. Audrey smells like tomatoes too, piyo-yo.” (Dia)
*Funi funi.*
Dia rubbed her soft body against Audrey’s face.
“Ah, that feels so good.” (Audrey)
“I can do this forever, piyo.” (Dia)
“Thank you.” (Audrey)
Audrey was wrapped in a fluffy, blissful feeling. At the same time, Marcosias was now being held by Clarissa.
“Is it really alright?” (Clarissa)
“Yes. I have already held her once. Let us take turns.” (Audrey)
“That is a fine idea.” (Marcosias)
Kate reached out with her costume hand and gently patted Marcosias.
“It is a good thing that everyone gets along.” (Stella)
Watching from a short distance, Stella made that remark, and Victor nodded in agreement.
“She usually tends to wander aimlessly, but when she is with Audrey and the others, she becomes calm. She naturally takes on the role of an older sister.” (Victor)
“I see. I can somewhat see traces of that.” (Stella)
Although she did not know much about Doctor Cocka’s background, it was clear that he must be a high noble.
The next booth appeared to be an exhibition of the historical heritage of Vampires. Various items were displayed in glass cases surrounded by rope.
“Tomatoes.” (Audrey)
“Tomatoes indeed.” (Clarissa)
“Tomatoes, piyo.” (Dia)
“Tomatoes, that is right.” (Marcosias)
The very first glass case contained a potted tomato plant, placed there as it was, somewhat haphazardly.
“This is the original strain of tomatoes from the northern country. The fruit is small, but it is resistant to cold and grows well.” (Kate)
“I did not know that. Kate-oneechan, you are so knowledgeable.” (Audrey)
“Hehe.” (Kate)
Then, as if recalling something, Kate added a comment.
“By the way, it is quite sour. The taste is rather disappointing.” (Kate)
“That is disappointing.” (Clarissa)
“Yes, disappointing indeed.” (Audrey)
“What a pity, what a pity, piyo.” (Dia)
“That is how such things are.” (Marcosias)
“Father said so, piyo. It is difficult for anything to be perfect, piyo.” (Dia)
Dia remembered the image of Elt holding his head while creating the bat.
“Yes, the supreme bat is a difficult thing indeed.” (Stella)
Stella nodded solemnly. They continued to walk around the booth, and everything displayed there was related to tomatoes.
They walked along, peering into each glass case.
“Tomatoes improved through selective breeding, bowls made for tomato soup.” (Clarissa)
“Everything is so tomato-mato, piyo.” (Dia)
“Yes, it truly is tomato-mato.” (Audrey)
Audrey could think of no better way to describe it. Tomato-mato. She did not dislike it, but she was not especially fond of it either.
If the world itself became entirely tomato-mato, then perhaps one would end up eating tomatoes in a tomato-mato way. Becoming an adult might mean accepting things like that, Audrey thought.
“Ah.” (Audrey)
The tomato-themed section ended, and they reached the costume corner.
Her heart began to race with excitement. Previously, the display had not yet been set up, so this was her first time seeing the costumes here.
“So, this is ‘The Indomitable Piyo’.” (Audrey)
Inside the glass case stood a magnificent cockatrice costume.
It held a spear and a shield, and its eyes were sharp and dignified. Kate pointed at the costume with her padded costume hand.
“This is a very sturdy costume reinforced with adamantite plates.” (Kate)
“It certainly looks sturdy.” (Clarissa)
“If it were made now, it would probably use lightweight and durable mithril instead.” (Kate)
Kate trailed off mid-sentence. Clarissa, stroking Marcosias, added…
“That is right. Adamantite is hardly used nowadays, is it?” (Clarissa)
“That is correct.” (Marcosias)
At that point, Victor smoothly stepped in to explain.
“Adamantite is indeed hard, but it is also heavy. Although it is not written in the description, this costume weighs as much as an adult person.” (Victor)
“So heavy, piyo.” (Dia)
“Yes, that sounds far too heavy.” (Audrey)
“One could not move while wearing it, right?” (Clarissa)
Audrey and Clarissa looked at each other.
“However, it is true that this costume was once used by the royal family. Now think, how could one use a costume so heavy that it cannot be moved in?” (Victor)
At Victor’s question, the children all began to ponder deeply.
“Piyo, could Kaa-sama also not move, piyo?” (Dia)
“I can move, but that is not the answer.” (Stella)
“Mother is special.” (Marcosias)
The children frowned in thought. Then, Dia suddenly seemed to realize something.
She raised her little wing and declared…
“Piyo. Just like Hakase, piyo, it flew through the sky, piyo.” (Dia)
“That is correct.” (Victor)
“I got it right, piyo.” (Dia)
Dia flapped her wings joyfully. Audrey and the others nodded in agreement with her answer.
“Amazing, Dia-chan. That is correct.” (Audrey)
“Now that you mention it, using magic would work.” (Clarissa)
“They did not need to walk at all.” (Kate)
“Exactly. The one who created this never intended for it to walk. It was used through magic, to fly or to levitate.” (Victor)
At Victor’s explanation, Dia raised her wing again.
“Piyo. It did not slip, piyo?” (Dia)
“Slip? I see. That is based on what you saw Nana do, I suppose?” (Victor)
“Yes, piyo.” (Dia)
Victor thought for a moment, then turned toward Kate.
“What do you think, Kate?” (Victor)
“Yes.” (Kate)
Kate, with her quick and brilliant mind, instantly arrived at the answer. Given the necessary premise, she could deduce the correct conclusion. Looking up at the costume of “The Indomitable Piyo”, Kate spoke.
“It would either sink into the snow or slide and never stop.” (Kate)
