Chapter 192

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

After parting ways with Konno-san, we entered the sixth floor of the dungeon.

“From here, the sixth floor. Visibility is poor, so keep a careful distance from your companions!” (Kouta)

“Understood!” (All)

Even without such instructions, our party could operate naturally. We had prepared sufficiently for that. However, this was also part of the performance for the broadcast. The footage from the sixth floor would be nothing but mist, mist, and more mist, suddenly interrupted by monsters emerging in ways that would make one’s heart race. Even my Magic Eye could only perceive the fog.

Therefore, repeated verbal confirmations were necessary, to ensure that the audience would not grow bored.

Frequently wiping the camera lens was also a significant inconvenience.

“To the left, ‘Dobby’. With this fog, the arrows may not hit but be careful. This is a different class from a Goblin Archer!” (Kouta)

‘Dobby’, the yellow goblin, was skilled with a bow and could shoot from atop trees or other high places, making it a troublesome monster. It could send arrows through gaps between branches or weave its shots through narrow openings in the wood. It was a remarkably skilled archer, entirely unlike the clumsy Goblin Archers we had faced before. However, the dungeon’s layout was flawed. With the fog, we could not see each other, and sudden encounters were frequent. On top of that, our positions were fully exposed to Muze, who could see through the water. Truly a pitiful creature.

“Front, to the left. ‘Redcap’. It is fast. Be careful!” (Kouta)

This one was the superior of the Goblin Scouts. True to its name, it wore a red cap and was smaller than a scout, perhaps weaker in power, but it utilized its speed and skills to attack effectively. In some ways, it reminded me of myself.

Yet even this monster could not make full use of its abilities due to the dense fog. On one occasion, it played a game of chase with me across the trees. We sensed each other’s presence but could not locate one another until Muze could no longer contain her laughter, revealing our positions and sparking a battle.

For the record, my verbal commands were a ruse so that Muze’s abilities would remain unknown. In reality, Muze tapped my head to indicate the direction and type of monster. At first, we considered pulling my hair, but fearing baldness, we agreed on a tap instead. As a result, I had to concentrate intensely to interpret the information Muze conveyed.

“Front! ‘Jellyfish’! Hide behind the trees! It is shooting!” (Kouta)

At my command, everyone hurriedly took cover behind the trees. A ‘Light Arrow’ flew past.

As always, this monster was particularly troublesome. It likely shared Muze’s ability, striking first even in this fog. If we delayed with it, the sounds of combat would attract ‘Redcap’ and ‘Dobby’, risking an attack from behind. Perhaps that was the purpose of its placement. I realized this belatedly, despite having traversed these floors many times.

“Mira, can you see?” (Kouta)

“No, the fog prevents it!” (Mira)

“…I will act as bait and move forward. Approach carefully from the side and fire. Do not come from behind!” (Kouta)

“Understood!” (Mira)

This was different from when it was just Muze and me, so MP had to be preserved carefully. Whether it was better to conserve my MP or Mira’s was uncertain. Nevertheless, for strategic reasons, we agreed to preserve mine this time.

The ‘Jellyfish’ exploded spectacularly before my eyes, a single strike from Mira’s magic. Perhaps it was my fault for approaching too closely, but the impact remained shocking no matter how many times I witnessed it. Mira’s magic had grown in strength, becoming akin to a tactical weapon.

I instinctively caught Muze, who had been blown away by the explosion, and rejoined Mira, returning to the others. Despite being tossed by the blast, Muze seemed utterly delighted. I stroked her gently as we proceeded, thinking that perhaps things were returning to normal, which felt comforting.

Despite my concern, the broadcast progressed smoothly.
