Chapter 158

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

A so-called ninja class.

Of course, it was a broadcast I came up with myself. Among our party members, I was probably the only one foolish enough to think of something like this. Still, I wanted to try it. I am part of the party too, after all. Since it was summer vacation, I thought the younger audience might enjoy it.

“Now then! We shall begin by walking on water without using water spider shoes! And so, we have come to the fourth stratum.” (Kouta)

“Wow! Clap, clap!” (Muze)

“Huh?” (Party members)

“What?” (Party members)

Yes, the reactions of my comrades were cold, as cold as the water itself. Muze was the only one who played along. I had asked Muze to handle the camera instead of Mira. I thought it would make for more dynamic footage that way.

“Kouta, wait. Those water spider shoes are the things ninjas attach to their feet to walk on water, right? How do you plan to do it without them?” (Haruka)

“Good question, Haruka. First, prepare the most essential item. Muze. And that is all. Nothing else is required.” (Kouta)

“It is Muze.” (Muze)

Everyone’s eyes froze. Even so, the camera was still rolling.

Keep the tempo. Keep the energy.

“Alright then, we will begin by walking across the surface of the lake. Muze, I am counting on you.” (Kouta)

“Leave it to me.” (Muze)

All I had to do was place Muze on my head and walk across the water’s surface. There was truly no skill or technique involved. And yet, it was quite the sight. My comrades stared with jaws agape as I walked across the water. I took a few steps, then turned to call them over.

“Alright, everyone, your turn.” (Kouta)

“Ohhh! He is actually walking.” (Emilia)

“How is that even possible?” (Sophia)

They could not hide their astonishment.

Adelaide-senpai even crouched down to touch the surface, checking it herself. That was fine, but the view was far too stimulating. When one leans forward in a low-cut top, it becomes quite an impressive sight.

Later, we might receive a stern warning from the Self-Defense Forces for this.

Only Sofia, for some reason, sank up to her ankles.

“Huh? Sofia, what happened?” (Kouta)

“Sofia is too heavy. Even Muze could not make her float.” (Muze)

Ah, the armor. I have not thought of that.

“It is the armor that is heavy. I am not heavy myself.” (Sofia)

Oh no. This is unexpected. I should have been more considerate, though it was Muze who said it.

“I shall remove it immediately.” (Sofia)

“Ah, wait, wait, wait, Sofia.” (Kouta)

When a woman says she is taking something off… no, not that. Mira would be furious if this silly project ruins her plans.

My comrades must have sensed my panic because they helped stop Sofia.

“So, the bottom is not solid, right?” (Adelaide)

“Of course not.” (Kouta)

“In that case, let us continue as planned. Muze, move ahead and film as we discussed.” (Kouta)

“Understood.” (Muze)

We moved toward the center of the lake and continued filming.

“Alright. This should be a good spot. Muze, show them your magnificent technique.” (Kouta)

“Leave it to me.” (Muze)

Muze leaped from my head and swam freely in all directions. She moved gracefully along the surface, sometimes diving below, mindful of forming elegant circular patterns. Occasionally, she passed directly beneath us, creating a captivating sight. Then, gaining speed, she leapt over us like a dolphin. The gathered water spirits began to imitate her movements, creating a far more impressive spectacle than I had imagined.

Thanks to that, though, we ended up completely soaked, despite being above the water.

I issued a few instructions during the shoot. Emilia focused on filming Muze, while Sophia slowly captured the surrounding scenery. That way, each of them could enjoy editing the footage to their liking.

If we only used Muze’s dizzying camera work, viewers would get motion sickness.

“Everyone, thank you for your cooperation.” (Muze)

“Thank you very much.” (Kouta)

After expressing our gratitude to the water spirits, we concluded the day’s filming.

“That was incredible, Kouta.” (Haruka)

“This is sure to attract attention.” (Emilia)

“My legs still feel light. It was such a dreamy sight.” (Sophia)

Good. The girls seem thoroughly pleased.

Truthfully, I had also wanted to try climbing, not walls but trees. Unfortunately, with our stats, it would be too easy. Unless we find trees of unimaginable height, it would not make for interesting footage.

“Oh no. Mira is angry that she could not participate.” (Haruka)

Haruka glanced at his smartphone as he informed me.

What? That is unfair. I only came up with this because Mira was not here.
