Chapter 157

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

“Hey! Mira, calm down! You are shooting too much!” (Kouta)

The goblins exploded and instantly dissolved into black mist. That day, Mira was in a foul mood.

“Oh, s-sorry… ahhh!” (Mira)

*Boom!*

Another three were blown away. She was so furious that even Haruka-kun could not stop her.

“This is ridiculous! Starting tomorrow, why am I the only one who will be busy? Everyone else will be free! Why must I be the only one working while I could be blasting away like this?!” (Mira)

*Boom!*

The goblins could not form any formation at all. They were blown apart, scattered, and rolled across the ground. Even Emilia and I were too afraid to step forward, fearing we would get caught in the blast. Friendly fire was a real threat. Even with good equipment, one direct hit would end us. And it was not as if her attacks were limitless. Her total MP had increased, but there was still a limit. I wished she would calm down.

“The Tokyo ambassador has been recalled to his home country! Because of that, my summer vacation is gone! Take this!” (Mira)

*Boom, boom, boom!*

How does she still have MP left? Should it not have run out by now? I already know it is a bad idea to let an explosive magic user carry a large MP reserve. Who gave her that? Yes, it was us. Even as leader, I could not shoulder that responsibility alone. We would all share the blame together.

Right, Muze, you are part of this too.

“I went overboard. My apologies.” (Mira)

After venting both her frustration and her magic, Mira finally seemed to calm down. It looked like every enemy on the fifth floor had turned into mist. Muze and Adelaide-senpai were crouched on the ground, holding their heads. Muze looked amused. Adelaide-senpai was trembling with teary eyes.

“Senpai, it is alright now.” (Kouta)

Probably. I could not be certain myself. I never imagined Mira would lose control like that.

“Kouta, Kouta, Kouta…” (Adelaide)

As Adelaide-senpai clung to me, I gently patted her back. My hand surely carried genuine sympathy. After all, I was terrified too.

“Kouta♪ Kouta♪ Kouta♪” (Muze)

Muze, using the same words, climbed up my body cheerfully.

Does this girl even know what fear is?

When Adelaide-senpai once used the magic art “Direct Pain” from the Skull Staff I had given her, I thought there could be no spell more dreadful than that. But I was wrong. Mira’s magic, now that she had replaced her staff, had become far more powerful. Previously, her spells were like rocket-propelled grenades with excessive velocity. It was already terrifying enough. Now their effective range had grown wider.

Is Mira trying to become a missile herself?

“Haruka, I am counting on you to take care of things. I will edit and upload the recorded footage during whatever spare time I can find. Any material will do. Just make sure to keep our channel active so the viewers do not forget us.” (Mira)

“Got it. Do your best at work, Mira.” (Haruka)

Technically, she was still a high school student, but her family’s involvement with diplomatic circles made it practically work. Until the new ambassador arrived, Mira’s father was apparently very busy.

“And… if possible, keep Kouta on a leash.” (Mira)

“That is impossible.” (Haruka)

What? How cruel. I plan some ideas to liven up our streams while Mira is gone. For example, visiting the newly opened Shizuoka Guild. But maybe that topic is already stale? Is it only interesting on the opening day?

We had already done a live stream featuring the terrifying “Queen Adelaide” recently, and the reaction had been huge. The video vividly conveyed how horrifying “Direct Pain” was. The gathered goblins rolled on the ground in agony, drooling and flailing about. Having experienced it myself, merely watching made my spine freeze. Although the effect lasted only a dozen seconds, even after it ended, they could not stand up right away. Some rather dangerous fans even sent us enthusiastic messages afterward.

Meanwhile, the “Haruka-kun Dance Class” streams continued to perform steadily as always. He seemed to have a large female audience, judging from the comments.  My personal favorite, the “Muze’s Mini Skit Series”, was also slowly gaining popularity, so our viewers would not grow bored anytime soon. There were even videos of Muze wearing Adelaide-senpai’s hat and dancing like the cat from the Sazae-san household. I probably could not come up with anything that could top that.

Sofia had also secretly filmed Mira’s explosive rampage, and that footage had been surprisingly well received.

Good job uploading it, Haruka-kun. I will make sure to collect your remains afterward.
