Chapter 132

Having already decided our first stream content, we continued to delve into the dungeon without altering our plans after the briefing. For those whose home base had been another dungeon, matters must have been more troublesome. However, that difficulty had been part of the recruitment conditions. No doubt they were now frantically committing maps to memory and devising strategies. The more earnestly one prepared, the more factors there were to consider: stream content, presentation, floor choice, combat style. It was a world apart from me, who had thought simply uploading a video of Haruka dancing would suffice.

“Adelaide! Strike them down with full force!” (Mira)

“Understood! Become my experience!” (Adelaide)

We too pressed forward with our final preparations for streaming. We deliberately lured enemies out from the targeted goblin settlement and culled them. At the same time, we strove to raise Adelaide-senpai to the target level. By this point, all others had already reached level five.

We had even advanced as far as the fifth floor, battling monsters said to be of the demonic type. So far, goblins remained far more numerous, and we had only managed to defeat a few of the demon-type. Their numbers on the fifth floor appeared to be extremely limited. We had filmed them, but not yet broadcast. Mira and Haruka were still considering how best to present them.

Full-scale filming on the fifth floor would await their decision.

“Haruka! Can you lure out more?” (Mira)

“To do so would mean drawing from the neighboring settlement!” (Haruka)

“Kouta! Do you think we can manage!?” (Mira)

“It is easily done! Leave it to Master!!” (Muze)

“With ease…” (Kouta)

“Haruka, do it!!” (Mira)

Though Mira had asked me, Muze answered in my stead. Still, Mira’s command was impressive. I would do well to observe and learn. With level five achieved, Emilia and Sofia had grown stronger still. Their fighting styles resembled those of formidable generals, coordinating seamless alternating attacks against powerful foes. It was a fearsome spectacle.

“You two are overindulging in battle! Leave some for the rest of us!” (Mira)

And thus, they were scolded.

“Yes.” (Emilia)

“Sorry!” (Sofia)

“A splendid fight from both of you!!” (Muze)

Muze immediately offered praise. It was a perfect coordination of whip and sweet.

Truly, is our party terrifying?

“Kouta, how are you feeling?” (Emilia)

“Hmm… I am still somewhat unaccustomed.” (Kouta)

“We have only just reached level five, yet already you alone have attained level seven! Restrain yourself a little, will you!?” (Mira)

“That is right, that is right!!” (Emilia/Sofia)

Cruel!

“It cannot be helped, for it is Kouta!” (Muze)

“Well, it is Kouta.” (Haruka)

What kind of reasoning is that!?

“Now, now, let us leave it at that. And? How is the new skill?” (Adelaide)

Indeed, upon reaching level seven, I had acquired a new skill. Of all things, it was the very ‘Magic Eye’ skill I had mocked as unbearably chuunibyou. Since it was not so rare as to merit secrecy, I informed my companions at once.

“Well, it is convenient, but… it shows me far too many things, which is troubling.” (Kouta)

Using it, I could see where normally I could not, behind me, above me. I could even use game-like perspectives, such as viewing myself from behind or looking down upon myself from above. At times I could even oversee a wide area.

When I activated all perspectives simultaneously, it became overwhelming, as I had just described. Moreover, while using it, my left eye glowed red. It was a troublesome side effect. A skill steeped in the very essence of adolescent delusion. Still, since it was not rare, many others would obtain it, which was some comfort. Reports also existed of similar “Magic Eyes” in different colors, with slightly differing effects. But invariably, the eyes glowed.

“How about you, Sofia? Have you grown accustomed?” (Kouta)

“It is enjoyable! When it connects properly, the goblins go flying.” (Sofia)

Sofia had finally acquired a skill, a martial technique called Shield Charge Zero-Type. It involved slamming one’s shield into the enemy. It carried almost no openings, but was exceedingly difficult to land. The effective range for a hit was extremely short. Unlike in a game, here the result varied by the enemy’s stance, size, and the user’s strength. In a game, one could ignore the foe’s size and always expect the same effect, with stance irrelevant. It was not so in this world. If the enemy was large or heavy, one could not send it flying. If it was light, it might be hurled far away. Obvious, perhaps, but still striking.

When Sofia, with her impressive status, used it, she could play bowling with goblins. Sometimes she struck with such force that they could not even fly, instead dissipating into mist. Its power exceeded even my imagination.
