Chapter 115

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

I returned home with Muze from the dungeon, registered her, and, just to be thorough, had her assessed at the appraisal room before finally heading back to my residence. A bug had arisen, whereby everything about her could not be discerned except for her species and name.

For precaution, I attempted to have my own status appraised, and in my case, it could be evaluated normally. Furthermore, although my level had not increased, a skill called [Contract Magic] had manifested. Therefore, it seemed reasonable to conclude that I was indeed a tamer. After all, I had entered into a contract with Muze.

Upon returning home, I immediately called Mira.

“Hello? Mira, it is me. Do you have time to speak at the moment?” (Kouta)

“Ah, at this moment, everyone is conducting a strategy meeting to determine how to make Adelaide understand your position, Kouta. If you have any opinions, do share them.” (Mira)

“It is rather innovative to ask the person whom you intend to persuade for their opinion. Surely the question lies in whether one truly intends to delve thoroughly into the dungeon, and also, what shall be done about Haruka?” (Kouta)

I could not discuss my skill over the phone, as such things could be easily extracted by anyone who listened.

“Regarding Haruka, consent has already been obtained. What about on your side?” (Mira)

“Keep it a secret. I have not yet come to fully trust Senpai.” (Kouta)

By “my side,” I referred to the [Healing Magic] that I had demonstrated the other day. This matter had been kept confidential from everyone. The footage that had been broadcast had been edited, so any inconvenient parts were already cut.

It was made to appear that Emilia had healed the wounds with a potion I had secretly possessed. To maintain safety and conceal the possession of the potion, the footage had been altered. Potions were not inexpensive, after all.

“Adelaide trusts you, however.” (Mira)

“Really? I had assumed that when I saw her next, I would at least receive a punch or two.” (Kouta)

I had carelessly divulged the details I had been asked to keep secret, thereby stirring trouble. It would not have been surprising if I had been resented.

“Her father has been placed in a rehabilitation facility in Germany, and until the drugs leave his system, he cannot be released. The country and military have acknowledged their fault and provided social welfare, so life is stable, and he has parted with unsavory business dealings. What reason is there for anger?” (Mira)

“That is entirely Mira’s accomplishment. I merely broke a promise.” (Kouta)

“You initiated the incident, and as a result, a family was saved. That is sufficient.” (Mira)

“…Thank you, Mira.” (Kouta)

I had always wondered if what I had done had been acceptable. I could have remained silent, but I had interfered unnecessarily.

“Fufu, it is all right. Now, what was your reason for calling? If you speak with me alone for too long, Emilia may become jealous.” (Mira)

“Ah, that reminds me! Today, I became a tamer. Because a cute companion has joined me, I wished to inform you promptly. Otherwise, it might interfere with the footage intended for broadcast.” (Kouta)

“…Haah!!?” (Mira)

Mira’s reaction was astonishingly unlike her usual self. I thought my eardrums might rupture. Perhaps my level had increased enough to strengthen them; a natural question arose in my mind.

“Y-You, half a day ago!!? We were together just half a day ago, yet how did this situation occur!?” (Mira)

“Please, calm down, calm down, Mira.” (Kouta)

“How can I remain calm!? There are only a handful of tamers in all of Japan!” (Mira)

The other end of the line had become uproarious. It seemed unlikely to settle for some time. Perhaps I should just send a video of Muze and leave it at that for today. I turned my attention to Muze, who was curiously wandering in front of the full-length mirror. She peeked behind it, presenting an extremely charming sight.

“Mira! For now, I will send you the footage, so please watch it. See you!” (Kouta)

“Hey! We have not finished speaking yet, Kouta!” (Mira)

“Phew.” (Kouta)

I ended the call and faced Muze, who was still struggling with the mirror. Since the opportunity presented itself, I decided to film this.

“…Would it be difficult to gauge my size? Muze, could you hold this for me?” (Kouta)

I handed an empty plastic bottle to Muze.

‘Kouta-sama! Is this water?!’ (Muze)

To Muze, the bottle appeared to be a container from which water could be obtained. She eagerly came to receive it.

‘…It is empty! There is barely any inside!’ (Muze)

It was naturally difficult to remove every last drop. She referred to the small quantity with the utmost earnestness. Nevertheless, she attempted with all her might to extract water by opening the cap.

‘Ahhh! Nothing comes out!’ (Muze)

She wrestled with the empty bottle for some time and finally collapsed from exhaustion.

‘Muze is no longer capable… sniff…’ (Muze)

She rolled onto her back while making such a declaration.

I thought I had captured the most adorable video and uploaded it to our group LINE. Consequently, I received an extraordinary number of scolding messages from the female members.
