Water Date

One after another, the boats advanced onto the lake.

The Nyaff tribe riding the Cockatrice boats… cute.

“Nyaa~, it’s a boat, nyaa~.” (Nyaff)

“We’re on the water, nyaaan~.” (Nyaff)

The Nyaff tribe seemed even more excited by riding the boats. Everyone’s eyes were sparkling.

“Brother, it’s better to ride the boat with just two people.” (Marcosias)

“Is that so, piyo?” (Dia)

“That’s how it is.” (Marcosias)

On the other side, Marcosias was trying to get Wood and Lalatoma to be alone together. Lalatoma was fidgeting at those words.

“Umm, but…!” (Lalatoma)

“We’ll ride separately. It’s fine.” (Marcosias)

Marcosias declared firmly. There was an indescribable elegance and dignity to Marcosias in her girl form.

If I or Stella said it, it might come off as too forceful… But Marcosias has this mysterious persuasiveness.

“Ugo ugo… then, shall we go together?” (Wood)

“…Let’s go.” (Lalatoma)

Wood pushed the boat and rowed out onto the lake with Lalatoma. As expected, Wood has strength. Stella waved her hand.

“Be careful.” (Stella)

“Ugo, we’re going.” (Wood)

“Have a good trip, piyo~.” (Dia)

Hmm… so they’re alone together now. Who knows how this will turn out. But Wood is the cautious type, so he probably won’t step on any sudden landmines.

“Elt-sama, shall we go too?” (Stella)

“Hmm? Where to?” (Elt)

Most boats had already departed onto the lake. We didn’t buy a boat, and even if we could ride one, it would have to be later.

“To the lake of course.” (Stella)

“…But we don’t have a-” (Elt)

“It’s fine.” (Stella)

Saying that, Stella walked toward the lake. Step by step.

“S-Stella…!?” (Elt)

Before I could stop her, Stella reached the lake’s edge and kept going… walking on the water. Magic like ripples spread from Stella’s feet. It was that magic wave everyone uses. I was seeing it for the first time.

A water-walking magic…? I don’t remember such magic or skills in the game. But Stella is indeed walking on the lake.

“Piyo!? She’s walking, piyo!?” (Dia)

Dia seemed to be seeing it for the first time too. But the adventurers reacted differently.

“Whoa! Stella-sama’s water walking.” (Adventurer)

“The legends were true.” (Adventurer)

The cheering adventurers made Stella blush.

Was she famous? Wait a minute… There was water walking in one of Stella’s plays.

“Ehehe, it’s been a while but I didn’t forget.” (Stella)

“There was one in your plays, the water battle one right?” (Elt)

“That became a play too?” (Stella)

Among the plays called “Stella’s Six Works”, the one with the fewest performances was “Hero Stella Piercing Through the Leviathan Swarms”. The story was set on a great river, where Hero Stella mowed down historically unprecedented numbers of leviathans…

The reason for few performances was because it was performed on water. Yes, the absurd format of performing on boats. They apparently had similar things in ancient Rome… Even in modern Earth there are water shows, but very few. The reason is simple. It’s too expensive.

In that play, Stella ran and jumped on water… but that wasn’t special effects. Even the book said “this probably didn’t actually happen”. But it was historical fact.

And it’s magic I didn’t know. Truly my first time. Magic I don’t know… The possibility existed. This world resembles the game world I mastered. But it’s not identical. Only the flora and fauna, skills, magic, and items are the same. The geography and history are completely different. So I had considered that.

It wouldn’t be strange if there was magic different from the game world. I just didn’t expect it to be right in front of me.

My heart beats slightly faster. Unknown magic, and from what Stella says, it shouldn’t be too difficult.

I want to try it…

“…My life seems more dramatized than I thought.” (Stella)

“Well… you’re super famous as an adventurer.” (Elt)

In that play, it was at the level of saving a whole country. It was truly amazing. Though there was probably some embellishment.

I approached Stella. Doing so, I could better understand what she was doing.

“You’re spreading a membrane of mana from your feet.” (Elt)

“Yes, with Elt-sama’s mana, I think you could do it immediately.” (Stella)

The image is like those water spiders ninjas use. The mana flow is smooth too. Seeing it demonstrated, it seems surprisingly easy to do.

“Here goes!” (Marcosias)

“Piyo!” (Dia)

“Maru-chan!” (Stella)

Splash.

Before I knew it, Marcosias had jumped next to Stella. As I was surprised… Marcosias was floating on the water with similar magic.

It seems fine. Floating properly is…

“I did it!” (Marcosias)

“Floating, piyo~!?” (Dia)

“Our master floated too.” (Marcosias)

Marcosias petted Dia at her chest.

Now that she mentions it, Dia did float in that bucket. Same principle?

“…That’s right, piyo. I floated, piyo.” (Dia)

“That’s how it is.” (Marcosias)

Marcosias elegantly stepped next to Stella.

“Maru-chan, you could do that?” (Stella)

“I just felt like I could.” (Marcosias)

“Well, it is Maru-chan after all.” (Stella)

Is that okay? But Marcosias is special. She has that mysterious persuasiveness.

The adventurers were wide-eyed in shock.

“W-wow… as expected of noble children.” (Adventurer)

“Truly different from us.” (Adventurer)

Marcosias’s mana should be much less than mine, yet she’s floating fine. Then, there’s no reason I can’t do it… probably.

Standing at the lake’s edge, I concentrated mana at my feet.

This form of magic is my first time but…

“Please take my hand, Elt-sama.” (Stella)

“Ah, right.” (Elt)

Stella approached me and took my hand. It felt like learning to skate. Slowly stepping onto the lake with my right foot. Mana spread across the water surface, creating footing.

Oh… it’s working. My right foot isn’t sinking.

“That’s the way.” (Stella)

“Yeah. It seems fine like this.” (Elt)

Stepping onto the lake with my left foot too. Now both feet are on the lake.

“This is a strange sensation… I’m really floating.” (Elt)

Bobbing slightly… but fine. My footing is secure.

“Yes, it’s fun, isn’t it? Let’s go.” (Stella)

And so, our family began walking on the lake. It was quite unusual but fitting for our household.

By the way, the Nyaff tribe being surprised when we approached was another story altogether.
