New chapter of Plant Magic Lord is out! (1/3 chapters)
Stella’s Report and Daily Life
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
The first thing after returning home was lunch. It was gyoza and spicy stir-fried tomatoes, energetically cooked by Dia and Wood. I was in charge of making fruit juice, tomato juice, and a platter of assorted fruits.
The main dishes, gyoza and spicy stir-fry, aren’t really something they’ll let me make… well, that’s fine.
Stella watched over us with a warm smile as we cooked.
“Elt-sama, thank you very much.” (Stella)
“You must be tired from the long journey.” (Elt)
“Yes… I’m grateful.” (Stella)
Honestly, she doesn’t look all that tired… Nana seems more exhausted. But you can’t really tell just by appearances.
Lunch had already been partially prepped, so everything finished up quickly.
“It’s done, piyo!” (Dia)
Dia’s cooking skills had skyrocketed over the past week. Her efficiency kept getting better. When it came to gyoza and spicy stir-fried tomato, we could probably leave it entirely to her now.
“Then, give thanks to the blessings, piyo!” (Dia)
Dia gived the signal.
She’s so cute.
We sat down and started eating.
Yeah, it’s delicious. The juicy steamed gyoza and the spicy stir-fried tomato. Since the room is closed off, Nana isn’t in her mascot suit.
“Haah… so good.” (Nana)
Nana gulped down tomato juice with a satisfied expression and devoured the stir-fried tomato.
“Tomatoes, tomatoes. It’s fine as long as there are tomatoes, but it’s hard when there aren’t any.” (Nana)
Leia nodded at Nana’s words.
“It’s like Zanzas without a cockatrice.” (Leia)
“…That’s a little off, but close enough, I guess.” (Nana)
Nana quickly finished off her spicy stir-fry.
Dia peeked at Nana and said…
“Want seconds, piyo? There’s more, piyo!” (Dia)
“Thanks. Then, I’ll have some more.” (Nana)
“Ugo made a lot!” (Wood)
Nana must have really missed tomatoes. She even asked in for seconds.
“It’s a nostalgic taste. Spicy and delicious!” (Marcosias)
“Don’t rush, Maru-chan.” (Nana)
“That’s right, piyo! The food won’t run away, piyo.” (Dia)
Peaceful everyday life had returned. While eating Elven food, I listened to what had happened in the Eastern country. It sounded like they had run into the Black Dragon Knight Order and gone through all sorts of experiences.
Listening while chewing, I ended up going a bit serious when the topic of the bat came up.
“So yeah, I swoosh-swoosh taught them all kinds of stuff and…” (Stella)
“There was someone who seemed like an aide too.” (Leia)
“Everyone was doing their best.” (Nana)
“…” (Elt)
O-oh… Her Majesty really had it tough…

After finishing the meal, Nana and Leia went home for now. We got the gist of everything.
They should go rest. Marcosias, Dia, and Wood were playing in the living room.
“Guiiin, piyo…!” (Dia)
“Guiiin.” (Marcosias)
“Ugo-ugo…” (Wood)
Dia lay on her back, lifting the puppy-form Marcosias high with her wings. Beneath Dia lay Wood, gently petting her. A triple stack, one could say.
So cute…!
Now then, enough being healed by this warm family scene. I was about to open the letter that Stella and the others brought back from the Queen. The letter was in a black tube adorned with gold and silver powder. It was clearly a luxury item. On the tube was the Queen’s national crest, a giant tree covered in leaves. It’s a botanical emblem commonly used in the Elven Nation.
“Now that I think about it, we just casually accepted it and brought it back… there wasn’t a problem, was there?” (Stella)
Stella tilted her head and asked.
“Ah, no problem there. Basically, the countries don’t interfere. No one’s going to get on my case just because I associate with the Eastern country.” (Elt)
“That’s rather lax…” (Stella)
This is something I’ve studied too. By modern Japanese standards, it would seem problematic for a mere feudal lord like me to interact with a foreign country like the Eastern country. However, in this world, the autonomy of each territory is extremely high. Even if individual nobles engage in diplomacy with foreign nations, it’s no big deal. As long as it’s not military-related.
“Let’s see…” (Elt)
As I began to unfold the letter to read it, Stella quietly scooted closer beside me.
“…Want to read it together?” (Elt)
“Yes…!” (Stella)
Stella smiled brightly.
This feels a bit different than usual. Maybe the atmosphere has changed a little.
The letter began by thanking Stella for her efforts and encouraged us to visit freely in the future. There were a few other small notes, but it was mostly just words of gratitude.
Phew. No complaints about the bats. That’s a relief.
“‘Even if the cart roams empty like Schladen, to welcome you is fortune for generations to come’… huh. That’s quite humble.” (Elt)
“Is that so?” (Stella)
“Schladen is a saint of the Eastern country. It was said to be an agent of the gods… basically the ancestor of Elves.” (Elt)
In Japanese terms, he’s probably like Yamato Takeru or Susanoo-class. His existence is questionable, but to be compared to him is the highest honor.
“Didn’t you learn about this stuff?” (Elt)
“I was expelled from the country when I was ten.” (Stella)
Stella said this casually, and I was taken aback.
I didn’t know that. So that’s how it was.
“…I’m sorry.” (Elt)
“It’s fine, really. It’s all in the past.” (Stella)
“No… still.” (Elt)
I understand. I was also driven out of my family and ended up here. So, we were the same. Stella too… even if I don’t know the details, she was cast out of her country.
Then, she pinched my right cheek.
*Funi*
A soft pinch.
It didn’t hurt. Her touch was gentle.
“F-Futera?” (Elt)
“…You looked sadder than me. That alone is enough. I’m happy.” (Stella)
Saying that, she pinched my left cheek as well.
*Funi*
Both cheeks, funi funi… Hmm. Now I can’t say anything.
“Piyo, starting to feel sleepy, piyo.” (Dia)
“Me too~” (Marcosias)
“Time for nap, piyo.” (Dia)
“Ugo-ugo, I’ll get the cotton.” (Wood)
“Thanks, piyo!” (Dia)
“After all, Brother’s cotton is the most relaxing.” (Marcosias)
It looked like they were done with their cuddle time and getting ready for a nap.
“…Shall we take a nap too?” (Elt)
“Yes, let’s do that. It’s been a while.” (Stella)
With that, Stella let go of my cheeks, and we all wriggled into the cotton together for a family nap.
It’s slow-paced, but just for today, I think that’s okay.
“Moist Maru-chan really is the best, piyo.” (Dia)
Dia hugged Marcosias tightly, pressing her head against him. Marcosias also pressed his face into Dia. The two of them smooshed against each other.
After we all settled into the cotton, Stella began gently poking at my cheek.
“Nfuu~…” (Stella)
“Muu…” (Elt)
She really likes my cheek, apparently. I don’t quite get it, but…
“By the way, the Queen mentioned something in the letter…” (Elt)
“What is it?” (Stella)
“She wrote, ‘Thank you for all the bats’…” (Elt)
“Yes, I left about thirty of them behind.” (Stella)
Hmm. Sounds like the Queen was really into it too. Maybe this is like how it happened on Earth… I feel like she might request an inter-regional noball exhibition match soon…
