We spent the rest of the day idly, ate dinner, and it became time for bed. Everyone changed into pajamas and gathered in front of the cotton bed.

Stella climbed into the cotton bed and stretched out her left arm as she lay down.

Dia and Marcosias slipped into the bed to Stella’s left side together.

After a few more days, the day finally arrived for the official establishment of the Adventurer Guild. Since the new year, more migrants had arrived, which made me very happy. Most of them said they were drawn here by the festival. So it was all worth it.

All the villagers had gathered in front of the Adventurer Guild. There were around 230 people now. Looking at them all like this, it really showed how much the village had grown. The Nyaff tribe, Dryads, and cockatrices were all here too.

I stood before the large building made of Wood and giant cockatrices, with everyone watching.

No need for a long speech. Besides, I’m not great at those anyway… Still, this is another day etched into the village’s history.

“Thank you all for gathering. Thanks to everyone, we’ve made it to this important day without trouble.” (Elt)

My voice was calm at first but gradually became more forceful.

“With the establishment of the Adventurer Guild, our village will become safer and more prosperous. I promise you that.” (Elt)

I could feel the villagers’ excitement rising.

“Let’s work together in this new year to make it even better!” (Elt)

I clenched my fist and thrust it into the air, and a cheer broke out. This sort of reaction was clearly more intense than what I was used to from Japanese people. But having people respond like this, it really made me happy.

Since we had everyone gathered, the next part was the banquet.

“We’ve prepared plenty of food and drink in the plaza. Please join us in celebrating this special day together!” (Elt)

Now, I finally understand why holidays existed in my previous life in Japan. They were for remembering and sharing important days as a community.

After the grand declaration, we moved to the plaza. We had laid out mats the day before, so with food ready, the feast could begin at any time.

She skillfully played while throwing in enthusiastic shouts. She hadn’t done this during the play, but now she kept the excitement going without missing a beat. The Nyaff tribe danced around saying “nyaa nyaa”. Anaria and Iskamina were surrounded by Dryads as they ate grass dumplings.

Well, as long as they’re having fun…

“I’m heading out for a bit…!” (Stella)

“Just some entertainment. I didn’t get to do much during the festival.” (Stella)

Stella stood up during a break in the music and headed to the center of the plaza. Carrying Durandal and Fragarach. That alone caused the crowd to erupt in cheers. She really was popular.

“Stella-sama…! What are you going to do?” (Villager)

“I shall challenge the limits of the body…!” (Stella)

With that declaration, she began juggling the two bats. The long, thin bats danced through the air.

Whoa… she’s seriously amazing.

The crowd was fired up.

“And now, one-legged stance!” (Stella)

She smoothly raised her right leg, but the bat juggling didn’t waver at all.

“So amazing piyo…!” (Dia)

Dia’s eyes were wide open.

Probably mine are too…

“Ei! Now, jump while holding it!” (Stella)

Wha—!? Is she gonna leap to the top of a skyscraper!?

I panicked, but Stella’s jump was small. Just like a hop in hopscotch.

Thank goodness. I thought she was about to fly off into the sky…

She kept doing little jumps as she circled around the plaza’s center.

Though, if she wanted to, she could probably do way more…

After a full circle, Stella bowed and returned. The crowd was fully pumped up.

“One more stage, piyo?” (Dia)

It was turning into a circus act or street performance.

…Though, I kinda do want to see it. But that could wait for another time.

And so, with roaring excitement, the opening ceremony came to an end.
