New chapter of Ordinary Person is out! (3/3 chapters)
Chapter 35
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
Mira talked too much, and while she was late eating her ramen, we stuffed ourselves with cream shiratama and left the shop. The chewy shiratama seemed to pierce Sofia’s sensibility, and she looked very happy. I was glad to see that. Even if not Italian, I could understand wanting to try for a chance.
Well, I’m not reckless enough for that, though.
“Kukuku, with this, I can show that stupid girl from that class.” (Mira)
Ah, I thought the noisy leader was a boy, but she was a girl after all. I guess Mira said “show” in the sense that proving fewer people are more efficient would be satisfying. Maybe something else was said too.
“Jousaki, you know, is kind of annoying. Today she asked what we were doing again and suggested going shopping instead of the dungeon. It’s really none of her business.” (Mira)
“He’s been ruining the class atmosphere every day, yet still dares to invite us. He’s definitely trying to use Sofia as bait to catch guys, no doubt!” (Mira)
Jousaki-san, huh… Seems like a very thick-skinned person. Like a landmine character. I better remember to avoid stepping on her.
Even girls can have those kinds of ulterior motives.
We returned to the dungeon, but it was the first weekend of the school year. Near the entrance was the same crowd as before. Leading the way, I weaved through the crowd and went deeper.
What surprises me a little is that even with me around, it is working well as protection from being hit on.
Still, there were countless obvious snide remarks and tongue clicks. Ignoring all of them, we hurried toward the entrance of the second floor.
At times like this, if it were Hiraiwa-kun, he’d say something like, “The voices of the ignorant masses’ curses are so pleasant!” but I can’t do that. I wonder if the day will come when I can reach Hiraiwa-kun’s level. Though even if I could, it might be a problem. Maybe the best I can do is retort that it’s not curses but jealousy. It would have been fun to explore the dungeon with him.
He reluctantly took the recommendation of his parents to apply to a prestigious school and he passed. He really was extraordinary in many ways. Going to see that magical girl show airing on Sunday mornings, and accompanying him to the exhibition hall.
That’s a dark past, though.
While thinking of other things, we left the crowd far behind and arrived at our destination.
“This should be fine. The entrance to the second floor is over there. Let’s look for goblins by circling around it.” (Kouta)
“Ah, sorry Kouta. I’m okay, but the two of you are tired.” (Sofia)
Damn. We had walked quite a distance at a fast pace. It is too much for the two Lv0s. That is a mistake. Usually, I use [Support Magic] and can run for several minutes easily, so I forgot.
“Sorry, both of you.” (Kouta)
“No, it’s okay. But please, let us rest a bit…” (Sofia)
“…” (Mira)
Sofia was gasping for breath, and Mira looked like it was painful even to speak. We hydrated and took a short break. Emilia, who followed without [Support Magic], must have had quite high initial stats. It was thanks to her efforts so far, so I had no complaints, but honestly, I was a little jealous.
“Emilia-san, you’re here in the dungeon with classmates, right? How are you feeling?” (Kouta)
Since the two were tired, naturally, I spent time with Emilia.
“I’m fine with just Emilia, you know? Kikuchi and the others are working hard, and you mustn’t underestimate a girl’s desire for beauty!” (Emilia)
“…I’ll make efforts little by little.” (Kouta)
“Is it something that needs effort? Well, whatever. Ramen has high calories, so I definitely want a body that doesn’t get fat! I’ve gained weight since coming to Japan.” (Emilia)
I can’t help but stare at Emilia’s slim stomach. I want to ask where the ramen and shiratama she just ate have gone, she is so thin.
“Kouta, if you’re going to look, look here instead, right?” (Emilia)
Emilia said that, lifting her small chest with both hands.
I feel my face flush.
“W-why, wh-why…?” (Kouta)
“Fufufufu, so Kouta gets flustered too! Since you never showed any interest in us at all, I thought I wasn’t attractive.” (Emilia)
“Huh? Eh… I really do think you’re very beautiful, you know?” (Kouta)
“Is that so? Surprising. Until a moment ago, it seemed you weren’t paying any attention to me. Was that just my imagination? Sorry.” (Emilia)
“No, it wasn’t.” (Kouta)
Yes, I really wasn’t paying attention, sorry. But there were many people around, and no fear of ambush, so please forgive me. I feel she isn’t speaking in that sense, but I don’t want to be embarrassed by a misunderstanding, so I decide not to think about it.
“By the way, the one who got fat is this one!” (Emilia)
You’re still continuing that story!?
