I stood there, simply looking down at my classmates, who had dived into the dungeon with me and were now sitting on the ground after their first battle.
If I have this much time, how many goblins could I defeat…?
I thought selfishly, then took a deep breath in secret, trying to calm myself and maintain composure. I told myself it was a necessary expense to avoid becoming isolated in class and glanced around to change my mood while pretending to stay alert.
Where people gather… whether it’s a school group or a neighborhood community discord always arises. People try to push troublesome things onto others or avoid dirty work by making someone else do it. Like it or not, the ugly parts of humanity become visible.
What’s the point of staying involved with these people…? Part of me thinks it would be easier to be alone. Another part feels uneasy without any connections. And another can’t fully trust others… that’s who I am. No matter how far I go, it’s always about me. I’m just not good at dealing with others…
It’s a meaningless line of thinking. In the end, I can’t live without getting involved with others. Gotta control my expression… keep my tone from dropping…
“Shall we get going soon? If we don’t work hard now, we’ll run out of time. Kouta-kun, you ready?” (Haruka)
Haruka-kun’s words made my heart jolt for a moment.
It feels like he has seen through my thoughts through my impatience. Though, he probably is just thinking about the remaining dungeon activity time.
“Yeah, no problem. Should we go with a schedule of hunting for about thirty more minutes before heading back?” (Kouta)
“Yup, very composed as always. Let’s go with that.” (Haruka)
“Alright! Time for us to move too!” (Emilia)
“““Ehh—!””” (??)
The boys started moving sluggishly, while the girls booed at Emilia’s words. It wasn’t that they lacked stamina. The extreme tension had drained them more than expected. It was honestly tough.
I get it. I’ve already experienced it myself, after all.
By the way, I believed the reason the boys stood up first was out of pride.
I totally get that!!
