New chapter of Ordinary Person is out! (3/3 chapters)
Chapter 29
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
I was frustrated because I had just lost the rare monster, the blue rabbit. But even though the timer hadn’t sounded, the time was approaching. While returning to the surface, I decided to take out my frustration on some goblins and started moving.
Still, it was such a close call. If I have a little more… some kind of idea, I might be able to get it.
Thinking that, my irritation gradually began to subside. On the way back, I hunted three goblins and got a knife, so I was able to completely fix my mood.
An unexpected income of 5,000 yen. Nice!
“…Doesn’t it feel like there are more people than usual?” (Kouta)
I felt like I was seeing more people than usual. Especially near the entrance, there were a lot.
This might be worse than I thought. Even if everyone re-enters the dungeon, it might be difficult for each person to hunt just one monster. The first floor is 20 kilometers wide, so maybe we should move deeper in at first…
That was what I was thinking. But when I exited the dungeon, that thought was completely blown away.
“…W-What is this?” (Kouta)
Between the dungeon and the guild, the neatly maintained plaza was completely packed with people today. Usually, there were only a few people scattered about. And without even looking closely, they were all high school students.
I shook off my shock and hurriedly searched for everyone. The timer had already gone off, and there was still time, but I wanted to avoid being late. It was supposed to be in front of the guild. For now, I headed that way.
There are too many people, and since I just met most of them today, I don’t remember many faces. This is going to be difficult. Fortunately, in our class, there are noticeable people like Haruka-kun and Emilia-san, so if I look for them, I should be able to find everyone. I’m not counting on anyone finding me because I don’t have a noticeable face.
“Kouta! Over here, over here!” (Emilia-san)
Emilia-san found me first.
Well, I’m glad to be found, though. My assumptions can’t be trusted.
“Hey, Emilia-san. You’re looking sharp as always today.” (Kouta)
Emilia-san, with her model figure, really looked good no matter what she wore.
I’m usually not good at praising others, but when it comes to Emilia-san, she’s just so cool that it comes out naturally.
Emilia-san responded with a mysterious pose, so I gave her a round of applause back. Our classmates joined in on it, which surprised me a bit.
“Kouta’s wearing his usual gear, huh? Made you easy to find!” (Emilia-san)
Ah, that explains it. Surely, there aren’t many people walking around in Japan wearing a green poncho.
“Haruka-kun’s really stylish too. Is that what they call spring colors? I don’t think I could pull that off.” (Kouta)
“Thanks, Kouta. Y-Your… yours too…” (Haruka-kun)
“You don’t have to force compliments. I know well enough myself. But this is gear prioritized for defense.” (Kouta)
“Is that really armor!?” (Classmate)
The boys in class reacted to that. Then, they asked various questions. We spent the time sharing knowledge while looking at everyone’s gear.
As expected, the registered members, both boys and girls, had gathered whatever they could. There was one person dressed like a baseball batter for some reason. He had a protector and helmet for hit-by-pitch defense, so he wasn’t someone to underestimate. Because he only had a metal bat as a weapon, he might as well have prepared all baseball gear.
I really hope he goes for a full swing and hits a goblin out of the park.
