Chapter 27

(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)

I had intended to head straight home and then to the dungeon, but I ended up getting caught by Haruka-kun. If it had been someone shady like that Numata guy, I would have had no qualms about shaking him off. But with someone like Haruka-kun, who seemed sensible and sociable, I had no choice but to stop.

Mainly because it might interfere with my school life starting tomorrow~.

He didn’t seem like the type to take charge, but he was a friendly and approachable ikemen.

He gives off so much ikemen aura, it makes me want to look for his fuse. And yet, his friendliness makes me hesitate to light it. So, I guess it can’t be helped. I’ll put off blowing him up this time. Well, not that I actually could.

“Alright, for team formation, let’s split into registered and unregistered groups. There are a lot of unregistered people, so it might be better to divide into two or three subgroups. I’ll leave that part to everyone to figure out on their own. So, let’s all grab some food and meet in front of the Guild at 1 PM! See you all later!” (Haruka)

Such admirable leadership it made me want to sigh in admiration. In the end, the group ended up split between male and female, and between registered and unregistered members. There were fewer registered people than I had expected. Five boys, no, six if you included me, and five girls. Emilia-san was among them.

If they understand how EXP gets split, this is the perfect number.

Though I can earn more solo.

That Numata bastard, the one who persistently asked about my status and skills and claimed he’d share his own, ended up in the unregistered group.

He hasn’t even been appraised. What exactly was he planning to share, that guy… I should probably avoid getting involved with him from now on.

My apartment was less than 15 minutes from school. I entered the room, put frozen pasta in the microwave, and while it was heating, took out the lettuce and tomato salad from the fridge and poured dressing on it. It was the salad I had prepared earlier in the morning.

Once the pasta was thawed, I placed it next to the salad, snapped a photo, and sent it to the family LINE group before starting my meal. Tou-san had shown understanding for the dungeon and my current lifestyle and supported me in various ways. But Kaa-san, she didn’t understand at all, to put it plainly. It was a measure to silence Kaa-san. It didn’t seem like she intended to complain about school cafeteria food, but she definitely wanted to meddle in all my other meals.

Haa…

I changed into my usual dungeon gear to reset my mindset. Even though it looked kind of lame, wearing it made me feel sharper.

“…Alright.” (Kouta)

When I had moved to Toyota, my little sister had bought me a full-length mirror with the little bit of allowance she had. I checked my gear in that mirror, then left the house.

I came too early… Not like it’s a bad thing, but I definitely came too early.

The dungeon is pretty close to my apartment, so if I move efficiently, I’ll have extra time on my hands. Should I kill time by browsing the Guild shop, or should I dive into the dungeon for a bit?

I hesitated but chose the latter. The other day, I’d already been scolded by the usual onee-san there, so showing my face at the shop felt awkward.

By the way, even her angry face was lovely.

Her name tag says Suzuki, so I guess that Onee-san’s name is Suzuki-san. But since we haven’t properly introduced ourselves, I’ll respectfully continue to call her Onee-san for now.

I set a 40-minute timer on my phone and decided to enter the dungeon. I would probably be cutting it close by the time I got to the Guild, but if needed, I could just run. With the effects of my support magic, my running speed had gotten pretty decent.

I shouldn’t be late with this. It’s not a flag, okay!?
