Chapter 21

After thoroughly enjoying the ramen shop, we were heading back toward the dungeon at a leisurely pace. It wasn’t like we had made any particular plans, but I had intended to start the afternoon session as usual today. However, I wondered if the others were okay with that.

“I’m planning to go to the dungeon this afternoon too, so this direction is fine for me, but are you three okay with it?” (Kouta)

“Mira has something to do in the evening, but until then, it’s not a problem.” (Sofia)

“I learned a lot just now, so I plan to try it out. It’s not too late to go home afterward.” (Mira)

“We ate well, so if I don’t move my body a bit, I feel like I’ll gain weight.” (Emilia)

Each gave a different answer. Especially Emilia-san, who spoke quite frankly. All three of them were slender and had good figures, so maybe they consciously managed themselves on a daily basis. Even so, Emilia-san had polished off a large portion with quite a high gram count.

Even I couldn’t handle a large portion. The amount of noodles in that is more than a regular ramen, and to think of eating that much… there’s no way I could fit it in my stomach. I couldn’t help but wonder where all those noodles had gone inside Emilia-san’s body, considering how slim she was. It truly was a mystery of the female form…

And despite all her fussing, Mira-san had apparently been listening closely to my conversation with Sofia-san.

“Up until now, I was diving into the dungeon mostly as a way to blow off steam, just for fun. But after hearing your story, Kouta, I felt like trying to gather information more seriously.” (Mira)

“Mira’s household has a lot of responsibilities and a heavy burden. It’s natural for stress to build up. If it’s okay with you, I’ll always be here to talk, anytime.” (Sofia)

“I’ll hang out with you too!” (Emilia)

I wasn’t sure if it was okay for me to ask, but if it wasn’t, they’d say so. So, I asked. Apparently, Mira-san’s Otou-san was an important person at a newly established embassy branch in Toyota City. From my perspective, it was still just a parent’s job, but listening to them, it seemed like the entire Fischer family was involved in the ambassador’s duties as a unit.

Among the German residents in Japan, naturally there were men, women, and children. The Fischer family’s job was to listen to their worries, complaints, and inconveniences, regardless of status, and work to eliminate them.

That certainly sounded like a major responsibility. As someone who had been giddy just to become acquaintances with a beautiful girl, I felt incredibly guilty.

“So then, Kouta, can I ask you to give another lecture on coordination?” (Mira)

“Well… I don’t mind, but…” (Kouta)

I felt a bit uneasy about it since it wasn’t something I had put into practice myself. I explained that the safest and most solid form of coordination was to have one person draw the enemy’s attention from the front, while the others waited for an opening to deal accumulating damage.

Wouldn’t it be like that in games too, like MMORPGs or hunting games?

That’s why I ended up explaining it in a way that wasn’t very friendly to ordinary people, saying things like “the tank grabs the aggro.”

But it couldn’t be helped, right? When you’re playing games with people, conversations like that just flow naturally, and before you know it, you assume the terminology and concepts you’re using are common knowledge.

Maybe I’m finally outgrowing being an average guy…
