Maybe I Should Just Have It Reforged

The giant golem was indeed agile, considering its weight, but avoiding its straightforward charge was not particularly difficult. Leon slashed at it while dodging. However, as expected, he only managed to scratch the surface. It was likely made of a material even harder than the previous golems.
“How about this?” (Leon)
Leon temporarily enchanted his sword with magic. The first enchantment was extreme heat. The blade turned red-hot, and the surrounding air shimmered. Since adamantite has an extremely high melting point, it wouldn’t melt from just a bit of heat. The second enchantment was ultra-vibration. The blade vibrated at an incredibly high speed, invisible to the eye. This drastically increased its cutting power.
Once again, he slashed at the giant golem. The heat from the enchantment and the cutting force of the vibration worked simultaneously, and the blade went through easily.
“Alright, now I can cut it.” (Leon)
Leon dodged the golem’s charges and punches while delivering slashes to its body. However, he then saw something completely unexpected. The crack he had just made disappeared in an instant.
“…Auto-repair function?” (Leon)
Leon had seen golems with that feature before. However, those would slowly repair themselves over time. This speed was completely outside his expectations. And it was happening not while shut down, but during combat. Leon continued to slash at the golem’s armor repeatedly, but every time the damaged part disappeared almost immediately. At this rate, there was no telling how long he’d need to keep attacking.
There are golems that function through constant magic supply from their creators, but this one clearly didn’t require that. It was autonomous. This type always had a power source, a core. It moved using magic supplied from a semi-permanent core.
Therefore, if he could destroy the core, he could likely force the golem to shut down. The problem was finding its location. Unfortunately, not even Leon could tell from the outside. Normally, one could determine it by the flow or intensity of magic, but there appeared to be some kind of concealment. If it were smaller, he might be able to guess its location due to physical constraints, but with something this big, it was incredibly difficult to locate.
At that moment, the giant golem suddenly raised one arm. At the tip of that arm was Leon, who was still thinking through his options.
*Doshun!!*
“!” (Leon)
Suddenly, what was fired from the golem’s arm was a stake, 50 centimeters in diameter and about three meters long.
*Zudooooooon!*
With a thunderous boom, the stake embedded itself into the ground. Amazingly, about 80 percent of it had sunk into the floor.
“Whoa, that’s some serious power.” (Leon)
If Leon hadn’t sensed the danger and leapt away at the last second, he would have taken a direct hit. And at that speed, dodging after seeing it launch would not have been easy.
“I can’t keep fighting like this bit by bit.” (Leon)
Leon made a decision. Still, thinking he should at least give a heads-up, he poked his head through the door and called out to Filia, who was trembling in shock.
“Filia-oneechan, is it okay if this tower gets a little damaged?” (Leon)
“…Excuse me?” (Filia)
Before she could reply, a tremendous surge of fighting spirit and mana burst from Leon’s entire body. He fused them together and focused them into his sword.
*Piki…*
The enormous energy caused the adamantite sword to crack slightly, unable to withstand the force.
As expected, it can’t take it. That’s why I didn’t want to use it too much.
Leon kicked the ground.
“Danger… danger… repel… repel!” (Golem)
It seemed the golem sensed the looming threat and thrust its arm forward again. The second stake was fired.
“Ha!” (Leon)
However, this time the preparatory movement was too obvious, and the attack was one Leon had already seen. Before it was launched, Leon had already moved out of the line of fire, but the golem couldn’t stop the launch. The stake flew past Leon’s side and slammed into the wall behind him.
Leon, then, closed the distance with the golem in an instant and delivered a powerful strike to the giant golem.
*Dogooooooooooon!!!*
“!?” (Filia/Mina)
The deafening explosion sound. As a result of the shockwave, Filia and the others were blown backward.
“…No, this can’t be real!?” (Filia)
“W-What the…?” (Mina)
Colliding with the wall and writhing in pain, they witnessed an unbelievable sight. The giant golem had completely vanished. That wasn’t all. With part of the tower’s wall gone, the sun, floating in the sky, had come into view. There was also a large hole in the floor, revealing the level below.
“…Well, yeah, I guess this much can’t be helped.” (Leon)
Although Leon had tried to avoid damaging the tower, that attempt had completely failed. However, if he had really gone all out, it wouldn’t have stopped at this level, and this was actually a considerable act of restraint. As for the adamantite sword, the blade had shattered into pieces, leaving only the hilt.
“Well, I can just have it reforged.” (Leon)
Leon muttered in a light tone. If any certain blacksmith had heard that, they would probably have twitched their cheeks and let out a large sigh.
