The troops led by Randal and Laika launched a fierce attack, causing Casablanca’s formation to shake violently.

“Protect Lord Casablanca!” (Soldier)

“Protect the Queen!” (Soldier)

The soldiers of Casablanca, who were suddenly attacked and completely caught off guard, had never expected an assault on this position. They gathered together to prevent any further attacks.

“There they are! Take down Casablanca!” (Soldier)

“Kill them, kill them!!” (Soldier)

On the other hand, the soldiers of Randal continued their assault, cutting deep into the formation. As they laid eyes on Casablanca, they became even more bloodthirsty, intensifying their attack. The soldiers of Randal, aiming to defeat Casablanca, and the soldiers of the Kingdom, fighting to protect her, filled the battlefield with various cries. This attack was completely unexpected for Casablanca as well. Seeing a soldier in front of her fall after being struck by an arrow, even her strong resolve began to falter.

“We must retreat quickly!” (Casablanca)

“No, we can’t!” (Fran)

Fran, the leader of the first unit, calmly stopped her. Fran understood what would happen if they retreated now.

“If we retreat now, everything will collapse. We must not rush.” (Fran)

“But if we stay like this…” (Casablanca)

Casablanca, overwhelmed by a sense of urgency, anxiously watched the battlefield. She could see Randal’s soldiers getting closer, their uniforms steadily drawing near. The battle was completely turning in Randal’s favor.

“Just a little more! Go!” (Randal)

Randal’s voice rang out as he spurred his soldiers on. Amid this, Laika’s dagger danced through the air. It was only a matter of time before Casablanca’s soldiers would crumble.

“Casablanca-sama—!” (Jeanne)

A loud voice echoed, covering the shouting of the soldiers. Fran, who had been shielding Casablanca from the arrows, looked up at the sound and saw a light of hope in her eyes.

“Jeanne! Casablanca-sama, Jeanne has returned!!” (Fran)

“Jeanne! Over here!!” (Casablanca)

With Randal’s soldiers’ hands almost reaching her, Casablanca waved her hand with all her might.

“Casablanca-sama!” (Jeanne)

Jeanne quickly spotted Casablanca, drew her sword, and charged toward the enemy lines on horseback. In no time, she blew away the enemy soldiers surrounding Casablanca, successfully rescuing her.

“Casablanca-sama, are you injured?” (Jeanne)

Saying this, Jeanne, who was covered in wounds, expressed concern for her liege.

“Yes, thanks to my loyal bodyguards.” (Casablanca)

Casablanca wiped the blood from Jeanne’s body with her own hands. Jeanne, who never expected such a thing from Casablanca, lowered her face, feeling somewhat embarrassed in various ways. In the nick of time, Jeanne arrived to save her. However, just as they thought they were safe, they heard the sound.

*Dodo-dodo-dodo-dodo-dodo-dodo*

The sound of hooves echoed.

“The enemy’s main force is closing in!” (Soldier)

Rishu had followed Jeanne and was now pursuing them. Even Randal’s soldiers, who had struggled to hold their ground, were barely managing. If Rishu’s main force arrived, the battle situation would be decided.

“If we continue like this…” (Fran)

Fran muttered in a daze. It was no wonder that the words “total collapse” crossed her mind. The situation was already hopeless. Jeanne remained silent for a moment but then, as though deciding on something, spoke to Casablanca.

“Casablanca-sama.” (Jeanne)

Then, she swiftly removed the Queen’s helmet.

“What are you doing?” (Casablanca)

“Please give me this helmet.” (Jeanne)

Casablanca understood what Jeanne was planning. She intended to die in her place.

“Jeanne. I won’t let you die. If you’re gone, who will lead the army? Only you can be entrusted with my soldiers.” (Casablanca)

Jeanne silently listened to Casablanca’s genuine feelings. Then, Jeanne smiled brightly.

“I’m very happy that you’ve acknowledged me. With your words, I’ll go.” (Jeanne)

“Jeanne. Wait. Jeanne…” (Casablanca)

“I was planning on making it a dramatic farewell. You’re such a stubborn queen. I love you.” (Jeanne)

Jeanne gave a wry smile as Casablanca continued to try to persuade her, then took out her whip and struck Casablanca’s horse.

*Hiiiiiin*

Startled, the horse galloped away with Casablanca still on it, heading toward the enemy-free northern side.

“Now…” (Jeanne)

Jeanne watched as Casablanca’s back grew smaller, then, having made up her mind, she donned the helmet.

“Give it to me!” (Jeanne)

She snatched the flag with Casablanca’s family crest from the standard-bearer and charged into the enemy’s lines.

“Everyone!” (Jeanne)

With her flashy armor and helmet, not to mention the royal banner, Jeanne’s presence was highly conspicuous. Both the enemy and her own soldiers briefly stopped fighting, wondering what was happening.

“I am Queen Casablanca of Laplace. Enemy soldiers, take me down and claim your victory.” (Jeanne)

Jeanne declared boldly. The battlefield fell silent for a moment. And then—

“Protect her!!!!” (Soldier)

“Kill her!!!!” (Enemy Soldier)

In the next instant, the battlefield erupted into a frenzy.

The enemy soldiers, seizing the great opportunity to take down the queen, rushed at her. In response, the Laplace soldiers, encouraged by Jeanne’s dignified conduct, became a human shield to protect her.

“No! That’s one of the bodyguards!” (Randal)

Randal, noticing the discrepancy first, shouted, but no one listened anymore. Everyone was determined to claim the greatest achievement of their lives.

“Ha!” (Jeanne)

Jeanne slashed and hacked away at the enemy soldiers rushing at her. The sight of a queen fighting herself inspired the Laplace soldiers, and before long, their morale was revived. After Jeanne had cut down dozens of soldiers, Laika leapt at her and struck her down. However, Jeanne’s time-buying had been more than enough. By the time Laika struck, Casablanca and Fran had already escaped far off the battlefield.
