Is It Ticklish?

Upon returning to his room, Sura approached with a bouncy motion.

『Welcome back-no』 (Sura)

“Amazing. I can really understand what you’re thinking now.” (Leon)

He crouched down and stroked her body.

『It’s ticklish-no』 (Sura)

“Is it ticklish?” (Leon)

This time, he massaged her body.

『It feels good-no』 (Sura)

“This feels good, huh?” (Leon)

Both reactions looked the same. Before now, he absolutely wouldn’t have been able to tell the difference.

Then, Leon decided to begin preparations for departure. Leon cast magic on a random bag and started tossing in everything that was in the room without hesitation. It was clearly over capacity, but the bag showed no sign of getting full.

Due to Leon’s magic, an ordinary bag had transformed into a magic tool called an Item Box. This was a convenient tool that allowed objects to be stored in a separate space, making it highly valued by merchants. Of course, it wasn’t infinitely spacious.

“This bag’s capacity is at most about two or three times the size of this room.” (Leon)

The limit of the capacity was determined by the bag used. This was because a bag made of weak materials couldn’t withstand powerful magic, no matter how much was applied.

Someday, if he could obtain a better bag, he planned to create one capable of storing an entire small village. Thinking this, Leon threw a blanket into the Item Box. Since it was something he had used himself, no one else would be using it in the future.
There was no need to leave it behind, so he stuffed everything in without emotion.

“But the Item Box I had in my previous life had quite a few valuable things in it…” (Leon)

Unfortunately, that Item Box was no longer in his possession.

“Well, I should at least be grateful just to have been reborn like this.” (Leon)

In no time, the room was neatly cleaned out. Then, Sura approached him with a worried expression.

『Are you going somewhere-no?』 (Sura)

“Yeah, I’m leaving this house.” (Leon)

『Uweh—n, I don’t want that-no』 (Sura)

“Of course, I’m taking you with me.” (Leon)

『Really? I’m so glad-no』 (Sura)

Just as he finished packing, the owner of the house, Lloyd, arrived. He was surprised to see the room completely emptied.

“This is…?” (Lloyd)

“Father? Did you need something?” (Leon)

“Eh? Ah, yes. …Leon, at least take this with you.” (Lloyd)

What he handed over was a heavy bag. Peeking inside, it was filled with silver and copper coins, with a few gold coins as well.

“Are you sure?” (Leon)

“Yes. Rather, forgive me for being a father who can do no more than this for you…” (Lloyd)

Since it was being offered, he gratefully accepted it. Thanks to this, his journey would be slightly better than planned, Leon thought happily.

Leon departed from the mansion where he had lived for a long time. Perhaps because he had regained memories of his previous life, he felt no particular sentimentality. Rather, he felt refreshed, finally being freed from this life.

Leon headed toward the carriage departure station. He had little luggage to begin with, and since it was all in the Item Box, he was practically empty-handed. At the very least, he wanted to have a sword at his waist, but he didn’t have one, so there was no helping it.

With this money, he could buy a new sword, but… at best, only a cheap one. Besides, in this rural town, there were no skilled blacksmiths. He decided to buy one in the city he was headed to.

There should also be an Adventurer Guild there, and surely, superior equipment would be available. Of course, the last time Leon visited was a hundred years ago, so he had no idea how it was now.

“Hm?” (Leon)

Leon noticed something strange.

Someone was keeping a fixed distance from him, following him the entire time. They pretended to be an ordinary passerby, but it was clear they were observing him. And it wasn’t just one person.

Wondering what this was about, he continued walking without concern. Before long, over ten boys emerged from an alley, blocking Leon’s path. Behind them, his older brother, Snail, appeared.

“Yo, Leon. To celebrate my cute little brother’s departure, I went out of my way to gather these guys. You should be grateful.” (Snail)

He said, grinning.

To gather over ten people just to see him off…

So, this brother of mine had at least some human decency.

…Or so he would never think.

“Hey, you got money from Father, right? How much did you get? You see, lately, I’ve been spending a little too much allowance, and I’m kinda short on cash, you know~?” (Snail)

Ah, so that’s what this is about.

Leon thought in understanding. Far from supporting his younger brother’s journey, he intended to rob him of his travel funds.

Truly, an irredeemable brother.

“That must be tough. By the way, you’re in my way, so could you move?” (Leon)

“Kuhaha, looks like you still don’t get the situation.” (Snail)

With a nod from his brother, the boys surrounded Leon, cutting off any escape.

“If you don’t wanna get hit, hand it over, slowpoke.” (Snail)

“And if I refuse?” (Leon)

“Tch… Get him.” (Snail)

One of the boys threw a punch at him. Of course, he met the exact same fate as Snail yesterday.

― “Double Reflection” Activated.

“Agah!?” (Boy)

Receiving the damage himself, the boy collapsed to the ground.

“Wha… What did you do!?” (Boy)

“Damn it… Everyone, get him at once!” (Snail)

This time, four of them attacked simultaneously.

― “Double Reflection” Activated.

“““Bugeh!?””” (Boys)

All of them fell victim to the automatic counter together. Technically, the skill didn’t have a 100% activation rate, but since it was a [Sword Saint] skill, it had a very high probability of triggering.

“W-What…? What just happened…?” (Boy)

“He didn’t even do anything, and five of them are down…?” (Boy)

The boys started to waver.

“Then, attack from a distance!” (Snail)

Hearing his brother’s command, the boys exchanged nervous glances. Then, one of them picked up a stone.

“How about this!” (Boy)

He threw the stone at Leon.

― “Double Reflection” Activated.

“Gyaa!?” (Boy)

Unfortunately for them, this skill activated regardless of distance.

“No way!?” (Boy)

“T-This guy is dangerous…!” (Boy)

As their comrades fell one after another to an unknown force, the boys began to back away.

“Useless idiots! Fine, I’ll do it myself!” (Snail)

Saying this, Snail drew the sword at his waist.

That so-called “legendary hero’s sword (lol)”. Even if it wasn’t that great of a sword, for a brother who only knew how to swing with brute force, it was more than he deserved. Against an ogre, it would normally be sufficient.

However, Snail smirked confidently and said…

“Heh, if you really got a Job, then show me your power.” (Snail)

It seemed he intended to duel here.

Sighing in resignation, Leon picked up a nearby tree branch.

“What are you trying to do?” (Snail)

“To defeat you, this branch is more than enough, Brother.” (Leon)
