Royal Capital

While the citizens of the distant town of Rodon were eagerly awaiting the opening of the academy competition.

Here was the royal capital of the Principality of Rozan. In peacetime, military nobles walked about freely, and the royal palace was lively, for better or for worse, but today it was enveloped in an unusual silence. An unaware court official, tilting his head in confusion, was stopped while heading upstairs for business and sent back. Despite the official’s protests, the upper floors of the palace were under strict guard, allowing no one to pass.

Overseeing those soldiers was Nork, standing with his arms crossed in front of a certain room. In the room that Nork was glaring at, there were six individuals. Only three of them were seated at the table. The other three stood slightly behind the seated individuals, serving them. Among them was Follet’s ally, the noble with a rich beard, Yorg.

In front of Yorg sat a somewhat slender young man with gentle eyes. His name was Branza Kuran Leonard, the current Prince of the Principality of Rozan.

Opposing them was a middle-aged man characterized by sharp eyes and a hooked nose. Dwell Solar Halon. This man was the Prince of Solar. Behind Halon stood a man in military uniform, who appeared to be about the same age as Halon. Seated in the last remaining chair was a woman. She was Beretta’s mother and the current queen of Remnos, Mathias Roar Sortia. Attending her was a slender maid with sharp eyes.

Thus, in this room, the three nations’ leaders were gathering, something that hadn’t occurred since the outbreak of war between Rozan and Solar. The reason for their gathering was simple, a ceasefire agreement.

“However, you are doing something bold. Using your younger brother as bait to keep the hawks at bay,” Halon said, to which Leonard responded with a wry smile. His expression resembled Follet’s, though Follet’s smile was a bit more dubious.

“Speaking of boldness, it doesn’t compare to you, Halon-sama. After all, you’ve barged into the heart of our nation.” (Leonard)

Halon seemed somewhat pleased by Leonard’s words and replied with a brief “Hmm.”

The Queen Sortia interjected, breaking the solemn atmosphere between the two princes.

“Oh dear, if we’re speaking in that way, then it means that I, who sent my beloved daughter into a dangerous place and went out of my way to come here, must be the most important, right?” (Sortia)

She said, laughing softly.

Sortia’s smile, which belied her age, prompted Halon to respond with a hint of admonishment.

“Calm down a bit, will you? Besides, neither you nor your daughter needed to come here.” (Halon)

“Oh, we set the table up to this point, didn’t we? It’s rather unkind of you to say not to meddle. I might just cry.” (Sortia)

“I’m not saying that. I acknowledge that you were the one who created the opportunity. However, I said there was no need for you or your daughter to come here. Quite frankly, you’re here just for your own amusement, aren’t you?” (Halon)

“Well, that’s quite unfair. Ah, but if ‘for my own amusement’ means ‘half-seriously,’ then you are correct. I wouldn’t want to miss such a historic scene; it would be a waste after going to such lengths.” (Sortia)

“However, Sortia-sama, as I mentioned beforehand, it was indeed dangerous for Beretta-sama…” (Leonard)

The host, Leonard, expressed concern, but Retia chuckled heartily.

“It’s her own decision. That child must show her people and subjects that she will be my successor from now on. In that sense, this opportunity is an unmissable diplomatic gain. If she can gain influence in both nations, it will also serve as a significant deterrent against the nobles that support other daughters.” (Retia)

Seeing Retia’s crafty intentions, Halon sighed.

“I see that was the case. Leonard-dono, as you can hear, dealing with these two will only tire you out. More importantly, let’s move ahead quickly.” (Halon)

Leonard nodded vigorously in agreement with Halon’s decision to leave Retia be.

“Yes. Then, let’s discuss the ceasefire agreement… and the talks toward the end of the war.” (Leonard)

At this very moment, the world was clearly steering toward peace.

“Waahhhhhh!!!!”

In the venue where the citizens’ cheers echoed, the figures of Follet and the nobles were absent. However, the audience, who were excited about the match, showed no signs of paying attention to Follet and the others.

Having disappeared from the venue, Follet, Beretta, Willard, and the others were now in Classroom 1-C of the Oran Knight Military School.

Heinz, Team Catrap, Lamie, and Bianca were taking a breather in Classroom 1-C, so they had all gathered together there.

By the way, Lulu had happily gone out with Lamie’s subordinates to take control of the remaining security soldiers.

“First of all, I’m glad you’re all safe. I’m sorry for causing you unnecessary trouble.” (Follet)

Follet sincerely apologized to everyone from the podium.

“We’re glad you are all safe too, Follet-san.” (Bianca)

After everyone celebrated their safety and settled down for a moment,

“By the way, where is Lux?” (Follet)

Follet looked around the classroom.

Just then,

“Oh, everyone is here!? Are you all okay!? Wait, what? Follet-san? And Lamie-senpai? Huh? What’s going on?” (Lux)

Lux appeared with his usual laid-back voice.

“Lux!!” (All)

The members of Catrap rushed toward Lux, celebrating their safety with a somewhat rough welcome.

“That hurts, that hurts.” (Lux)

Lux said, but there was a glimmer in Lux’s eyes. No, it wasn’t just Lux. Everyone from Catrap was teary-eyed. Even Frank was sniffling.

While watching the reunion of Lux and the others, Bianca noticed someone flustered behind Lux.

“…Gellar!? Why is Gellar here?” (Bianca)

With Bianca’s words, Heinz and the others turned their gaze in that direction.

With attention on him, Gellar awkwardly bowed his head.

“Why is Gellar with Lux?” (Sonia)

Sonia asked.

“I ran into Gellar along the way, and she acted as bait to help me escape.” (Lux)

After that, once Lux had safely completed his sniping and descended from the castle wall, Gellar, who had been worried about him, had been wandering around the dormitory area. Then, the two had been searching for their Catrap friends together.

For a while, they explained their respective movements, taking into account the situation of Follet and the others. Finally, when everyone grasped the situation, Beretta, who was seated on Saxon’s desk, asked Follet.

“So, where are the peace negotiations taking place? What in the world led to the change of location?” (Beretta)

“Right. I’ll explain that now. Everyone, could you please take a seat?” (Follet)

Everyone, except for General Verger, who might break the chair, quietly sat down, and Follet placed his hands on the podium as if it were a class and cleared his throat.

“The peace talks are currently taking place in the royal capital of Rozan. The catalyst was you.” (Follet)

Saying that, Follet slowly pointed at Lux.
