Looking at Alice kneeling in front of me, I reflected on the battle from earlier.

Well, speaking of transformation, it’s not the kind where you use a belt or something. It’s my unique skill, False Me (偽りの私), which is a higher-level ability of the Doppelganger’s unique skill, False Myself (偽る私). One of the abilities allows me to completely mimic the opponent’s appearance, memories, knowledge, personality, habits, skill abilities, etc. This is possible even with the lower-level False Myself.
The other ability, which only False Me can do, is transformation based on imagination. With this, I can change into a form I imagine. However, it’s not unlimited, and I can only transform into four possible forms. One is my usual appearance, my normal clothing. It’s the form I changed into when I was once a faceless being. So, this becomes the default, and no magic consumption is required for it.
The second form is the Defensive Combat Stance (Tungsten Body) that I used earlier. However, this form has some weaknesses that weren’t detected. The first weakness is mana consumption. The more I deviate from the default form, the higher the mana consumption. In other words, if I get carried away and take a bigger form, my mana will deplete quickly, and I will collapse. Another weakness is that I cannot use skill abilities. It seems that I can only use skill abilities in my default form.
Furthermore, the Tungsten form is so heavy that I become sluggish. Every step I take feels heavy. There are probably other weaknesses I haven’t discovered yet, but the performance of the Defensive Combat Stance (Tungsten Body) makes up for them, so it can’t be helped.
The first reveal of the Defensive Combat Stance (Tungsten Body), and at the same time, Alice’s slash was unleashed. The moment Alice’s sword broke, it was decided who was in check. If Alice could have cut through the Tungsten, I would have been in check. I have no battle experience at all. I would have been killed slowly. However, what surprised me was that despite her sword breaking, Alice continued to fight. She wielded some kind of power in both hands and struck at me.
Naturally, there was no way she could do anything to me with her hands when she couldn’t even scratch me with her sword. I remained unharmed, while Alice’s hands were breaking. Even so, her relentless will to keep attacking the same spot and try to break me. I was deeply impressed by that. I saw the pride of a strong warrior resisting.
That’s why I didn’t want to kill Alice. If I killed her, I would gain a lot of magic essence. But I didn’t want to lose Alice.
I waited until Alice stopped her attacks and asked her.

If she said she would run, I wouldn’t help her, but I would have at least closed my eyes. If she said she didn’t want to join as a subordinate, I would have made a prison somewhere and gradually convinced her. However, Alice said she would become my subordinate. She probably had something in mind.
Well, whatever she was thinking, it’s her freedom. Besides, with Alice, she couldn’t kill me, and no one stronger than her would come in the next knight squad. Now, should I talk to the demons and prepare to intercept the knights?
