“Ahh… Finally, we can go back to the royal capital…” (Harold)
Inside the carriage heading back to the royal capital after leaving the Magic Tower, I murmured in a somewhat deflated voice.
For now, I’ve cleared the scenario of ‘The Broken Doll Hidden in the Magic Tower’. I swear I’ll never get involved in the main scenario of ‘Enhaz’ again.
“Haru-sama, thank you for your hard work. Please rest comfortably on my lap.” (Alexandra)
“Thank you, Xandra.” (Harold)
And so, I’m completely relaxed, resting on Xandra’s lap. Her chest might be small, but her thighs are plump and incredibly comfortable.
“By the way, I wonder if that piece of junk… is doing its job properly.” (Alexandra)
“Ah, ahaha…” (Harold)
The ‘piece of junk’ Xandra refers to is, of course, Laila. She’s currently watching over the restrained and carted-off McLaren on our way back. From what I’ve heard, the magic doll Laila doesn’t need food or sleep and only requires mana replenishment about once a week. However, a single charge needs about 100 units of mana, which requires draining mana from a significant number of people. My mana, or rather SP, is 999.
And recently, I noticed that even though transforming Cas into the ‘Jet Black Shield Casparleague’ should consume SP, it doesn’t seem to decrease at all. According to Xandra and the others, even a slight mana drain causes fatigue. Yet, unfortunately, I’ve never felt that. In any case, it feels like I was destined to become Laila’s master.
“Changing the subject, what does Youor Highness Harold plan to do with that piece of trash?” (Monica)
“It’s decided. After making him create another one of those things… he will receive the proper punishment.” (Harold)
The ‘thing’ I’m referring to is that magic tool we found on the top floor of the Magic Tower. After interrogating McLaren, we discovered it’s an absolutely extraordinary artifact for me. However, for others, it’s useless or even harmful, so McLaren abandoned it as a failed prototype. Since ‘Enhaz’ never featured such an item, it might have been a scrapped idea from the developers.
As for McLaren’s punishment, execution is the only option. But the process to get there won’t follow the usual procedure. After all, I’m planning to inflict pain that even hell would find mild.
“Once we credit Owen with the success of this mission, there’s nothing left for us to do… ugh.” (Harold)
“Eh? ‘Ugh’ is a bit harsh…” (Ulysses)
At some point, Xandra and the others had disappeared, and I found myself resting on Uly’s lap. No matter how comfortable it feels, I draw the line at resting on a man’s lap.
“Anyway, you twisted fate again this time, didn’t you?” (Ulysses)
“Ah…” (Harold)
Uly’s probably talking about how I saved Laila. In ‘Enhaz,’ she was destined to die.
“But now you see even more how unreliable that ‘God’ you talk about is. I’ll keep breaking fate.” (Harold)
“Haha, you’re so reliable.” (Ulysses)
Despite his words, Uly looked conflicted.
I’m curious about his true intentions, but he wouldn’t tell me even if I asked. Perhaps the ‘God’ he mentioned is eavesdropping.
“But is it really okay? What you did ended up helping Owen. It doesn’t benefit you and only enhances his achievements.” (Ulysses)
“I know. That was my plan from the start.” (Harold)
“Huh…?” (Uly)
When I decided to team up with Owen for the ‘Broken Doll Hidden in the Magic Tower’ scenario, I never intended to compete with him. I’m different from Harold in ‘Enhaz’.
“But if you leave it like this, Eibar might spread rumors that ‘The Third Prince Harold challenged the Fourth Prince Owen and was easily defeated.'” (Ulysses)
“Probably.” (Harold)
“‘Probably’? Seriously…” (Ulysses)
Uly seemed unsatisfied, but as I’ve said many times, I have no intention of competing for the throne. I don’t care about public opinion as long as Xandra and the others don’t abandon me. So…
“Let me ask you, Uly. If King Eibar spreads that lie, will you abandon me?” (Harold)
“What!? Never! I would never… wait.” (Ulysses)
After shouting, Uly turned away, embarrassed.
See? You feel the same way.
“Then, that’s all I need.” (Harold)
“Haru-kun, you’re unfair.” (Ulysses)
“Really? Oh, wait… I’m suddenly feeling sleepy…” (Harold)
Maybe the exhaustion from everything caught up with me. Resting on a man’s lap is punishment enough, but this time, I’ll make an exception.
With Uly’s awkward smile as the last thing I saw, I slowly drifted into sleep.
