“Would you like to hold me?” (Casablanca)

A predatory face was close by. Fresh from a bath, water dripping down, giving an alluring appearance.

“I was given the exact same invitation by your younger sister before. You really are sisters, aren’t you?” (Arc)

For now, Arc answered while feigning calmness. Indeed, Casablanca bore a striking resemblance to her sister, Marie. Even the words they used to invite were almost identical.

“I heard about that. It was during the Habarov Summon, right? When you and Marie first met.” (Casablanca)

“Yes.” (Arc)

So, she told her, huh.

Arc felt exasperated. Back then, Marie was a pure maiden, so their meeting probably left her flustered and excited.

But even so, would she really share that with her sister?

Arc decided he’d have to interrogate her once they returned to Mikanda.

“Then, hold me too. My chest isn’t as big as my sister’s, though.” (Casablanca)

“Casablanca-sama is a bit more muscular, after all.” (Arc)

“Hey, hey, come on!” (Casablanca)

As Arc tried to change the subject, Casablanca pouted and clung to him. Her usual arrogant and regal demeanor had completely shifted to that of a spoiled child.

“Casablanca-sama seems a bit tired.” (Arc)

Arc tried to pry her off somehow. Casablanca’s pupils were dilated, showing she was in a fully aroused state. It must have been the earlier duel with Louis that threw her off balance. Arc had heard that when humans face death, their instinct to reproduce kicks in, leading to arousal. If that were true, then Casablanca was essentially in a state of confusion brought on by her instincts.

He had to calm her down somehow.

“I have a wife, you know.” (Arc)

It was true that Arc hadn’t seen Marie recently and wasn’t entirely free from pent-up frustration himself. However, even he couldn’t bring himself to lay hands on a queen. Allowing Casablanca to hold something over him would be a literal risk to his life. That said, her sudden shift from a commanding queen to someone openly seductive was quite a striking contrast. Had it been anyone but Casablanca, Arc might have easily succumbed.

Still, Arc resisted. He remembered Marie and the respect of the people of Mikanda, and somehow managed to hold firm.

“What are you doing, reporting in… like this!?” (Lily)

Suddenly, a thunderous voice rang out.

When Arc turned around, he saw Lily of the Third Unit storming toward them with a face like a demon.

“To think you’d seduce Casablanca-sama while already having Marie-sama as your partner!” (Lily)

Why was she mad at him?

He had endured so much, and yet. Arc protested indignantly.

“N-No, if anything, I was the one being attacked.” (Arc)

“You’re saying Casablanca-sama pushed you down!? Blaming a woman is utterly disgraceful.” (Lily)

Either way, he got scolded.

How absurd.

“Lily, your report?” (Casablanca)

“Ah, yes.” (Lily)

Casablanca was now standing with her usual composed expression. She was still completely naked, but her demeanor was so dignified that it made Arc doubt his own eyes. Lily froze momentarily, but then, hurriedly began her report.

“The left wing, center, and right wing have all collapsed. The Lureid Kingdom’s army is in full retreat. Additionally, we’ve confirmed the deaths of five Laplace nobles who had sided with the enemy.” (Lily)

It seemed the battle was over. The Lureid Kingdom’s forces had fled, and the remaining Laplace nobles had been taken down. Lily hesitated before continuing with difficulty.

“And… we’ve captured Rui.” (Lily)

Arc couldn’t bring himself to look at Casablanca. He didn’t want to see what kind of expression she was making upon hearing that her brother had been captured.

“I see. Those who are alive can’t be helped. Take him to the capital.” (Casablanca)

Casablanca’s voice echoed like a ripple on a tranquil spring. It sounded happy, yet hesitant, leaving its true nature unclear.
