“Well then, Marie. I’m off.” (Arc)

“Take care.” (Marie)

Arc soothed the worried Marie. She had hoped to accompany him as part of the medical unit, but as her husband, Arc couldn’t take Marie to the battlefield. Since Minerva and Yanna would remain in Mikanda, he entrusted them with taking care of Marie.

A month had passed since the ceremony to return the titles. In both the southern and eastern regions, battles between the royalist faction and the noble faction had already begun. In particular, in the southern part of the kingdom, Casablanca herself was leading the army against the nobles, and the confrontation between the royal family and the nobles had reached its climax.

According to information from Yuna, due to a lack of coordination among the nobles and the soldiers’ growing aversion to war, Casablanca’s side currently held the advantage. This meant that the western region couldn’t afford to lag behind. Arc, having returned from the royal capital, set out with 10,000 soldiers gathered from his territory.

“Just three years ago, when we of the Warden Household were assigned as the lord of Mikanda, the Laplace Kingdom shone brightly. The trust between the nobles and the crown was unshakable, and the people were able to greet tomorrow with joy. However, now, this kingdom has sunk into darkness. The nobles defy the kingdom, selfish individuals strut about arrogantly, and the people live in constant fear and anxiety.

But their suffering ends now. Her Majesty Queen Casablanca has finally taken action!  She has resolved to subjugate the gluttonous and corrupt nobles. Let us follow her lead! Liberate the kingdom from the wicked nobles!!” (Arc)

The soldiers, hastily conscripted and suddenly thrust into battle against the nobles, were understandably bewildered. At the departure ceremony, Arc delivered a long speech to emphasize the legitimacy of the war and worked tirelessly to raise the soldiers’ morale.

Though Arc was the highest-ranking leader of the Warden forces, the de facto commander was Tyr. Since all military affairs were left to Tyr, he had also devised the strategy for this campaign. At the encampment, the group gathered around a map with Tyr at the center to review their strategy.

“This time, we must prevent the enemy nobles from uniting into one massive force. We’ll divide the Warden army into two groups to conquer the western region.” (Tyr)

Tyr drew a line around the map with a sweeping motion.

“We’ll proceed like this, conquering through the west and the east. The western route will be led by me, Hal, and Mia. The eastern route will be led by Arc, Randal, Laika, and Rishu.” (Tyr)

To accommodate Arc’s lack of confidence in his military abilities, more soldiers and commanders were assigned to the eastern route.

“If everything goes well, we should rendezvous in the Southern Margraviate. Arc, if anything happens, I’ll come to help right away. Rely on Randal and the others, and don’t push yourself too hard.” (Tyr)

“Understood. Tyr-niisan, you take care as well.” (Arc)

Thus, the Warden forces split into two groups and began their advance.
