“Arc-sama! His Majesty Casablanca has arrived.” (Mia)

“She’s early. I’ll go immediately.” (Arc)

Upon receiving Mia’s message, Arc rushed out of the guest hall. Casablanca had come all the way from the royal capital to Mikanda for this wedding.

When Arc arrived at the venue, Casablanca had just arrived as well. As usual, she seemed to have brought her personal guard, the Sevens. Arc knelt in front of Casablanca, replacing Minerva, who had been attending to her.

“Your Highness. Thank you for coming.” (Arc)

Casablanca wiped away her sweat but showed a smile. She seemed more relaxed than usual.

“That mountain is still as troublesome to cross. Today, I’m attending as Marie’s older sister.” (Casablanca)

“Thank you. What about His Majesty Louis…?” (Arc)

“Of course, the King and the Viceroy cannot leave the royal capital, so it’s just me attending. My younger brother never was particularly enthusiastic about Marie and Arc’s marriage.” (Casablanca)

Although Arc had heard some of this information, it seemed that Louis was indeed not attending.

Having once been part of Leo’s faction and now working with Casablanca’s camp, Arc had ended up in an adversarial relationship with Louis. There was no personal relationship between them, and there was no reason for Louis to come all the way to Mikanda.

“Marie-sama is in the church.” (Arc)

“I see. Then, I’ll go meet her.” (Casablanca)

Having heard where her sister was, Casablanca quickly wrapped up her conversation with Arc and decided to go meet Marie.

At the church, Marie was wearing a pure white wedding dress. Since arriving in Mikanda, the maids who had become her personal attendants were diligently working on her makeup and hair.

“How lovely, Marie-sama.” (Maid)

The maids admired her, taking care of her.

The maids in Mikanda were highly skilled.

When she had been in the royal palace, there had been many maids, but they were young girls sent from various noble families, with much of their involvement tied to political matters. Although their abilities were certainly high, they had not shown much enthusiasm in taking care of Marie, who had no claim to the throne. Marie had basically taken care of herself.

The maids in Mikanda not only had excellent skills as maids, but they also followed the royal family’s customs and etiquette. Moreover, they provided not just daily care but also companionship and intellectual discussions. As the handpicked maids Arc had personally trained for Marie, they had matching thought processes and wavelengths. Marie felt as though she had gained a friend she could trust deeply.

“Marie.” (Casablanca)

“Nee-sama.” (Marie)

As Casablanca entered the room, the maids all bowed and left the room. Even in these small gestures, they were top-tier.

Marie’s wedding dress was pure white, just like Marie herself. Casablanca instinctively felt like turning her face away because of how perfectly pure the white was. That beautiful white could be dyed by any color. It symbolized both Marie’s pure heart and the fact that she had been used by many different forces. At the same time, Casablanca felt a bit of self-loathing for having such thoughts at her sister’s celebratory event.

“It’s beautiful.” (Casablanca)

While silencing various voices in her heart, Casablanca said it sincerely.

“Thank you.” (Marie)

“How have you been lately?” (Casablanca)

“Yes. The people here are warm and kind. I’ve become very close with Arc-sama’s sister, Minerva-sama. She runs a university here in the city, and she created a class for me to teach the medical techniques I learned at the Church to students. Both adventurer students and military students listen attentively. Improving medical skills means saving more lives, so it’s very fulfilling.” (Marie)

Marie said she was teaching medicine at a university.

She spoke enthusiastically about her life in Mikanda. She was excited, just like when she was a child. After she grew into her role as a princess, she no longer spoke like this, but it seemed that Mikanda had awakened the old, hidden part of her. The Marie who had been so fearful in recent years now seemed so alive, it almost made Casablanca question if her past apprehensive face was just an act.

It was a relief to see her so fulfilled. As an older sister, there was nothing more pleasing.

“The ceremony will begin soon. Aren’t you nervous?” (Casablanca)

“Yes. I’m used to big stages now.” (Marie)

Casablanca took Marie’s hand, and Marie returned the gesture by holding her hand in turn.

The old Marie had been afraid of events and found it difficult to perform the royal duties that required exposure. But she had grown so much that she was now strong enough to hold her sister’s hand in response to her comfort.

“It’s strange that a former excommunicated Saintess is holding a ceremony at the church.” (Marie)

Marie said with a wry smile.

“Your excommunication has been revoked, and your honor is restored, wasn’t it?” (Casablanca)

“Yes. Thank you.” (Marie)

After executing High Priest Cyan, Casablanca completely took control over the fearful Church faction. She made them apologize for excommunicating Marie, calling her a witch, and thus resolved the issue.

“I’m glad you’re happy.” (Casablanca)

“Yes. Nee-sama, I am happy.” (Marie)

The once-timid Marie now confidently declared her happiness.

“Well then, I’ll see you later.” (Casablanca)

Having been continually surprised by Marie’s growth, Casablanca felt joy as an older sister but also a twinge of loneliness as she headed back to the venue.
