Heading to Northern Frontier

“Ugh… it’s so cold…” (Casparleague)

After submitting a two-month leave of absence to the Royal Academy, I set off for the territory of Margrave Stone with Xandra, Monica, and my partner Cas. That said, I had only been enrolled for about 10 days, so when I handed in the leave of absence, the Royal Academy looked at me with judgmental eyes.

Similarly, Liz, Christia, and even Carla gave me strange looks. Especially Liz, who insisted on ‘going together’ despite my objections…

Well, I’ll buy her souvenirs, so I’ll just ask for her forgiveness.

Now, it has already been three weeks since we left the royal capital, and though it’s May, there’s still snow lightly accumulating around here. No wonder it’s so cold.

“Cas is a cat-type magical beast, so it’s no surprise that you’re weak to the cold. Come here.” (Harold)

“Okay.” (Casparleague)

I spread my jacket and called to him, and Cas came into my clothes… not my chest area, but inside my clothes.

“Ahh… so warm.” (Casparleague)

“Well, that’s good, at least.” (Harold)

Thanks to Cas’s warmth, my body feels cozy, but Xandra’s resentful gaze is freezing my heart.

Honestly, jealousy towards a kitten is not a good look.

“Are we not there yet, at Margrave Stone’s territory?” (Harold)

“No, we’ve already entered the territory.” (Monica)

Oh, we’ve already crossed into Stone’s territory, huh? That means we can’t let our guard down… but…

“Eh…” (Harold)

Just as if it was timed perfectly, a group of riders came toward our carriage. Needless to say, they were bandits.

“Heh… we’ve been in the carriage for so long, my body’s gotten a bit sluggish.” (Alexandra)

“That’s true. It’s quite cold today, so let’s move to warm up.” (Monica)

“Ugh… I don’t want to go outside…” (Harold)

Xandra, who immediately took out “Balmung” as if waiting for this moment, and Monica, who drew her dagger and smirked.

Haven’t we had already trained together with me this morning, right? Sigh… The only comforting thing right now is Cas, who’s squirming inside my clothes. Well, anyway…

“Since we’re here, let’s defeat the bandits and bring a little gift for Margrave Stone.” (Harold)

“As expected of Haru-sama.” (Alexandra)

Xandra praised me happily as I took her hand and got off the carriage.

“Heh heh heh… If you don’t want to die, leave everything behind.” (??)

“Ah, well, that thin… kid… doesn’t matter, but that maid over there is a real beauty. We’ll take good care of her.” (??)

And, of course, the usual crude remarks from the bandits.

There’s no better way for them to make an entrance as villains. So sad.

As I cast a pitying glance at them…

“Heh! You say something interesting! Who’s the ‘thin kid’ with no chest!?” (Alexandra)

No, no, I don’t think the bandits mentioned anything about her chest? But I guess Xandra was unexpectedly concerned about it. As for me, I don’t mind modest chests at all, in fact, I love them. Is that a problem? Still…

“Hmph… they’re not much to deal with.” (Alexandra)

“Indeed. This isn’t even a proper warm-up.” (Monica)

The pitiful bandits were quickly defeated by the two. They were lying on the ground, barely alive.

“Your Highness Harold, what shall we do? It would be troublesome to bring all of them along, so should we take only their leader and bury the rest here?” (Monica)

““!?!”” (??)

At Monica’s words, the bandits’ faces turned pale.

“P-please wait! We apologize for attacking you! So please, show mercy!” (??)

The bandits, who had been lying on the ground, all prostrated themselves and desperately begged for their lives, abandoning their earlier crude language. Meanwhile, the one who seemed to be their leader had a look on his face like he had bitten into a bitter bug.

Could there be something going on here?

“Haru-sama, what will you do?” (Alexandra)

“Well… if they promise to never do this again, I wouldn’t mind helping them out.” (Harold)

““R-really!?”” (??)

At my words, the bandits seemed to perk up.

Honestly, dealing with them would mean getting Monica’s hands dirty, so…

“Sigh… Your Highness Harold is still so soft… though I don’t dislike it.” (Monica)

“Haha, I wonder.” (Harold)

Monica sighed, and I gave a wry smile in response.

It’s true that I might be soft, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to punish them. So, now…

“Cas.”

“Nyahaha! It’s been a while since the Calamity Beast Casparleague has made an appearance!” (Casparleague)

Cas, who had absorbed a great amount of my SP, grew larger and dug her claws into the ground.

Why, you ask? Well, obviously to bury the bandits alive. Of course, I’ll leave their heads above ground so they can breathe.

“Yeah, this is a nice view.” (Harold)

““…”” (??)

I nodded in satisfaction as I saw the bandits, with only their heads sticking out of the ground, arranged in neat intervals.

Who is responsible? I don’t know, but if you learn your lesson from this, you’ll never do something like this again.

“Well, let’s go.” (Harold)

“Yes.” (Alexandra)

We got back into the carriage, threw the bound leader into the cart, and continued towards Margrave Stone’s place.

Holy shit!?! The main character actually has good taste!? That’s so rare!!! Rarer than rare!!

I was considering dropping this after things kept going the evil character’s way, but maybe there’s hope if the main character actually likes flat chests.

PLEASE let her be a harem member for Harold!
