**Today’s Diary**
After discussing with Heinz, Sonia, and Rick-san, we decided to keep an eye on Lev and Lite for now. However, we resolved to keep the matter of the western-style mansion, the Seven Mysteries, and the missing file a secret, as we were genuinely concerned that they might be investigating something.
To the other members, regarding the western-style mansion, we said, “Talking to Lev and Lite about it would break our promise to Rinkert-san”, and about the Seven Mysteries, we said, “In case we are blamed for the lost file from the old school building, it would be better if you don’t know about it, so as not to be held responsible unfairly”.
Both reasons were not unnatural, so everyone accepted them without resistance. We interacted normally otherwise, but so far, there haven’t been any particular problems with the two. Well, that’s that, but today I wasn’t in a position to worry about the new students.
—
It all started after school with a careless remark from me.
“I think I want to cut my hair short soon.” (Lux)
I had been letting it grow and tying it up for a while, but I wasn’t particularly attached to its length. When I was in the southern village, I would have my sister, Noris, cut it when it reached a certain length, but I missed the timing when I came to this academy. In the busy school life that followed, I had put it off, but it had become quite bothersome. Hence, the careless remark I made in the classroom. Sonia and Maria, who were sitting next to me and chatting, caught that comment with keen ears.
“Huh, Lux, are you getting a haircut?” (Sonia)
Sonia interrupted the chat and spoke to me.
“Yeah. It’s getting long enough. I was thinking of cutting about half of it off.” (Lux)
“Will you cut it yourself?” (Sonia)
“Hmm, I had Noris cut it for me before, so I was thinking of going to Rita-san’s house soon.” (Lux)
At that point, Sonia’s eyes seemed to shine with excitement.
“If that’s the case, I could cut it for you.” (Sonia)
Immediately, Maria also raised her hand.
“Ah, I’d like to try cutting it too!” (Maria)
“Maria, have you ever cut hair before?” (Lux)
“No, but with your hair length, even if I mess up, I can redo it, right? Sonia, what about you?” (Maria)
“Hmm, actually, I haven’t either.” (Sonia)
What? Neither of them has any experience? Then why are they so eager to volunteer?
As Sonia and Maria argued about who would cut my hair, Hana came over and said, “Is this an interesting discussion, degozaru?” and declared she also wanted to try.
“Then, Lux, choose!” (Sonia)
With three people crowding around me, things became even more chaotic.
“Is it a competition with Lux!? Then, I’ll do it too!” (Bianca)
Bianca joined in, though I was not sure how she interpreted the situation.
“Bianca, this doesn’t concern you!” (Lux)
“Yes, it does. I’m Lux’s rival, after all!” (Bianca)
Yeah, that doesn’t matter right now, so could you go over there for a bit? I’ll give you the candy I have in my pocket.
As the discussion once again became chaotic with me being ignored, I used all the skills I had developed in stealth to quietly escape from the classroom.
—
I was naive to think that I could just wander around and wait for things to cool down. I headed to the library to return the books that were due today and killed some time there. I thought of going back at a suitable time, but then realized that Sonia and the others might be waiting at the dorm, so I decided to walk towards the opposite side, where the military building was.
Then, I noticed a woman standing a short distance away. It was Lamie-senpai. When Lamie-senpai noticed me, she beckoned me over. I instantly sensed danger. Lamie-senpai wouldn’t just be inviting me over like that.
This is a trap.
I quickly fled and hid in a place out of Lamie-senpai’s sight, diving into the forest of the practical area. After a while, I sensed Lamie-senpai passing by and heard her mutter, “Lost him, huh…” before she moved away. Immediately after, I overheard a conversation between some male students passing on the main street.
“Hey, did you hear? If you find Lux from 1-C, the stock of 1-C girls is supposed to go up.” (??)
“Seriously? Let’s look for him.” (??)
They passed by saying such things.
This is bad. For some reason, things are escalating.
This seemed to be Bianca’s doing. She probably didn’t care about my hair but might have said something like, “The person who catches Lux gets to cut his hair!”. Considering that, it seemed natural that Lamie-senpai would be asking around if anyone had seen me. Though it was a mystery why Lamie-senpai would be trying to catch me, she was an unusual person.
For now, I climbed a tree to avoid being seen and observed the situation, when another loud person arrived.
It was Lulu-san.
“Hey, Lux! Where are you? I, Lulu, will give you a buzz cut, so come out!” (Lulu)
The appearance of this formidable beast meant my escape routes were rapidly narrowing. It was not good to stay in the forest. Although it seemed like a safe zone, those searching for me would start marking spots that are easy to hide in.
“Guess it’s the dorm then.” (Lux)
Fleeing to the dorm and calling this a no-count would be the safest course of action. Of course, there was the risk of ambush, but worst case, I’d prepare to be scolded by the dorm mother later and try to sneak in through a window or somewhere. With summer’s remnants still strong and sunset late, I approached the dorm while avoiding being seen. However, as I reached the vicinity of the school building, I heard a voice saying, “Ah! Found you!”. The distance made it hard to tell whose voice it was, but since they didn’t say “gozaru,” it might be someone other than Hana even though she didn’t usually use “gozaru” when speaking naturally either.
In any case, I slipped into the school building and looked for a place to hide. However, the school building wasn’t very suited for hiding. While I was considering what to do, I saw Sonia running towards me. I instinctively started to run while looking in her direction, and…
*Whap*
I collided with someone.
“What’s the rush, Lux?” (Rita)
It was Rita-san.
If this game (?) has the rule of catching me, then Rita-san wins.

*Today’s Diary Continued*
In the end, for the sake of fairness, Rita-san ended up cutting my hair.
Even Rita-san was perplexed, but after listening to the explanations from the gathered women, she was persuaded to do it.
I want to at least record in this diary that my wishes were not respected even once during this process.
Rita-san is quite skilled, and thanks to that, I ended up with a refreshed hairstyle for the first time in a while. However, I made a firm resolution to never again say “I want to cut my hair” in the classroom.
