“Aniki!” (Reus)
“Oh! Everyone’s safe!” (Sirius)
“Stay alert! Send troops to the sides and rear, secure the surroundings!” (??)
Before anyone realize, it was time for the sun to begin setting. By the time the intense battle had come to an end and we had obtained some new information from the critically injured Lambda. In the meantime, Reus and the others, who had been fighting monsters in a distant location, arrived. They were all as battered as Emilia, and it was worrying to see them looking like they might collapse at any moment, but their expressions were bright. Not only had the roots surrounding them stopped moving, but also the tentacles that had been so active. So, they must have understood that Lambda had been defeated.
“Hmph, looks like you brats survived.” (Lior)
“Yes, I’m glad everyone is safe. Especially Reus, I imagine Ojii-chan was worried about him, right? I heard from him that you were finally called by his name.” (Emilia)
“…I don’t know.” (Lior)
Despite the fact that Emilia was still sitting and unable to move properly, Jii-san avoided his gaze while feigning nonchalance. Even though he had been strict with Reus in various ways, he should be proud that a man he had trained like his own disciple had become strong. There was no need for him to be embarrassed. As I chuckled at Jii-san’s usual stubbornness, Reus and the others, who had come up to me, began to approach me as soon as they got off their horses.
“You defeated him, Aniki!” (Reus)
“That strike that felled that giant—how did you do it? I want you to explain!” (??)
“Sensei! Did you finish him off?” (Keith?)
“Alright, everyone, calm down a bit.” (Sirius)
Various emotions were mixed in the words thrown at me, but I managed to pacify them and explain about Lambda. Since Lambda was no longer present in the towering tree in front of us, unable to move its tentacles or obtain nutrients, it seemed that it would collapse naturally if left alone. Although it had become harmless for now, it would eventually need to be dealt with, as its collapse would have a significant impact on the surrounding area. Well, that would be left to the upper echelons of Sandor. Finally, when I conveyed that the critically injured Lambda was lying over there, their smiling faces instantly became serious.
“He’s still alive!? Sirius-dono, why are you letting him be!” (??)
“Even in that state, we don’t know what that bastard might do!” (Reus)
“I understand your feelings, but he’s already powerless. Besides, there’s someone who needs to talk to Lambda more than anyone else. Assuming he makes it in time.” (Sirius)
Lambda, who was lying on his back and not moving a muscle, was in a state where his life could extinguish at any moment. But since I was told to keep him alive in exchange for granting his request, he was still barely clinging to life… that was the current situation. I had placed the old man near Lambda for the moment to keep an eye on him, so everyone seemed to accept it, but it might all end up being in vain. The frontline central unit, which was slowly advancing, was still far away, and although Lambda had been defeated, there were still many monsters remaining on the battlefield. At this rate, Lambda’s life might expire before the reinforcements arrive. With a sense of resignation creeping in, I was sipping water given by Julia’s unit when I noticed someone charging alone with a roar.
“Uooooooh! Get outta my wayyy!” (Sanger)
“W-Wait, please!” (??)
“Don’t leave it to just one person! Don’t be late!” (Sanger)
“Is that… Nii-san!?” (Julia)
It was none other than Sanger himself, whom I had been waiting for, and his escorts were chasing after him in a fluster. It might be the height of folly for him, the supreme commander, to engage in such a dangerous stunt, but it didn’t seem like he’s recklessly charging in.
Part of it is due to the impressive swordsmanship he was displaying, as I heard before the battle, but it was also because the monsters, now regaining their senses after Lambda’s defeat, had started turning on each other and devouring one another, causing the enemy formation to collapse into chaos.
Whether he’s instinctively targeting areas where the monster ranks were thinning out or not, Sanger is showing remarkably stable breakthrough power even though he’s charging alone. His father was also a warrior who wielded his weapon on the front lines, and it seems that bloodline had been strongly inherited.
“Nii-san, why did you do something so reckless on your own!” (Julia)
“Maybe it’s precisely because it’s now that I did something reckless, huh? Look, doesn’t Julia’s brother right now feel kinda like me?” (Reus)
“Intuition… is that what it is? When you say it, it’s strangely convincing.” (Julia)
“I know people around me might get mad, but I like guys like him. I trust them more than those who just watch from behind.” (Reus)
As Reus said, I thought Sanger charged based on instinct. Perhaps sensing that Lambda’s life was fading, despite the chaos among the monsters, he charged instinctively.
While impressed by his initiative, as Sanger broke through the enemy lines, he arrived at our location and immediately dismounted from his horse.
“Where is that bastard! Is he still alive!?” (Sanger)
“Yes, he’s over there. You’d better hurry.” (Sirius)
Confirming Lambda’s presence where I pointed, Sanger dashed toward him as if he were about to strike him down.
But his momentum waned just a few steps away, and when he stood in front of Lambda, he spoke in a calm voice, contrary to the rough emotions from earlier.
“Hey. You’ve changed a lot… you.” (Lambda)
“…” (Sanger)
Lambda, being looked down upon, just stared at Sanger with vacant eyes without saying a word.
As Sanger raised his fist toward Lambda, he soon lowered it.
“Tch… there’s nowhere to hit you now, huh?” (Sanger)
“…Will you… do it? You are… the victor.” (Lambda)
“What!? There’s no way! The reason I’m able to be here like this is thanks to everyone here and those on the field!” (Sanger)
“You’re still… foolish.” (Lambder)
Despite not admitting it himself, Sanger’s victory over Lambda was as the supreme commander standing above.
Nevertheless, Lambda continued to express disdain towards the man lamenting his own powerlessness, but Sanger keeps talking to him without showing any concern.
“Well, forget about me. So, how much longer can you keep living?” (Sanger)
“If desired… soon…” (Lambda)
“Alright. Before that happens, listen carefully.” (Sanger)
“Huh… if… kill me… quickly…” (Lambda)
“…Thanks.” (Sanger)
“!?” (Lambda)
Lambda, expressionless as he was, showed a surprised expression at the sudden expression of gratitude.
‘Well, if you were told you were going to get punched and then hit with such words, it’s not unreasonable.’
“What… do you mean…” (Lambda)
“I was indeed betrayed by you. Still, you taught me things, and you saved me when I was down.” (Sanger)
“That’s…” (Lambda)
“I get it. You did all that to deceive and use me, right? I’m saying this knowing full well. But I won’t say it again.” (Sanger)
‘While ultimately it depends on how you perceive it, the opponent is a vengeful person who not only betrayed him but also aimed to destroy his country. Yet, even so, he… uttered words of gratitude. It might seem foolish, but perhaps he was saved and relied upon by Lambda before. He must be a man who won’t be satisfied unless he sticks to such principles. And… I think the main topic that Sanjel forcefully brought up is yet to come.’
“So, have you given up on revenge, or are you still angry?” (Sanger)
“I have not… given up… on that… rotten country…” (Lambda)
“Figured as much. Then I’ll take care of your revenge for you.” (Sanger)
“Take… care…?” (Lambda)
“Yeah. I’ll judge all the guys you hate and everyone involved. Not with such reckless methods like yours, but I’ll handle only the idiots.” (Sanger)
‘What he couldn’t tolerate about Lambda’s revenge was that it involved many innocent people. Revenge often carries a negative connotation, but I believe there’s a distinction between what’s permissible and what’s not. Some people even derive sustenance from it.’
So, no one stopped Sanger from trying to redirect Lambda’s twisted revenge back to something sensible.
“So, tell me all the guys who set you up. Don’t just spout hatred, think clearly.” (Sanger)
“…” (Lambda)
“What, you think you can’t do it? Unfortunately, while you were gone, I’ve been chosen to be the next king. I’ll achieve it even if I have to use my old man. You know well that I’m a guy who doesn’t give up easily, right?” (Sanger)
The bottom line is, after the continent-wide disaster caused by the Legendary Gathering, it’s necessary to discuss what happens after the battle. Trying to spread the blame on Lambda won’t convince people, nor will it bring in money.
Moreover, those who framed Lambda are fundamentally the cause of this commotion. They can’t get away scot-free.
And after a few minutes of staring each other down, Lambda, who seems close to death, finally spoke.
“Hamilton… Rode…” (Lambda)
“Those guys, huh. They acted like they had nothing to do with it, but they were quite involved. Damn it!” (Sanger)
Lambda’s words were fragmented, with pauses between each, but Sanger patiently listened and repeated them to remember.
By that time, the main force of the central unit, including the Beast King and Fort, had finally arrived. But sensing Sanger and the others’ situation, they simply watched from a distance without interfering.
“Is that everyone?” (Sanger)
“Yes…” (Lambda)
“Got it. If you’ve said this much, it means you’ve entrusted it to me. So, you can finally… rest, Lambda.” (Sanger)
“Are you… really…” (Lambda)
“Yeah, I am. Idiot. Farewell.” (Sanger)
With Sanger’s final words, Lambda’s remaining body quietly begins to crumble, turning into decayed pieces of wood. And thus… Lambda’s life, lived for revenge, came to an end.
Although I couldn’t say he was completely satisfied, there was a hint of peace in Lambda’s voice at the end, and I feel like he was saved, even if only slightly.
“Tch. At least call my name at the end.” (Sanger)
Watching Lambda’s final moments and raising his head, Sanger’s expression showed neither the lingering triumph nor the sadness. However, there was a sense of closure in ending his relationship with a friend, and Sanjel, who quickly switched gears, issued instructions to Fort, who was on guard in the vicinity.
“Is Cayenne here yet?” (Sanger)
“He’s a bit behind, but he should arrive soon.” (??)
“Hurry him up! We’re going to establish a base here according to his plan!” (Sanger)
“As you command!” (??)
“Lord Sanjel, we’ll sweep the surrounding area of monsters.”
“I’m counting on you. We’ll start preparing!” (Sanger)
With Lambda, the enemy’s commander, gone, but with a large number of monsters still remaining on the battlefield, it was time for a sweep operation. Considering the damage, it might be wise to retreat to the ramparts and defend, but for now, they planned to establish a temporary base here to reduce the number of monsters and rescue and regroup scattered comrades.
Thus, as the Beast Kings moved to eliminate the monsters to establish a base, the movements of those with keen senses suddenly came to a halt.
“It’s coming from above!” (??)
“Something’s falling! Brace for impact!” (??)
Several massive masses fell from the sky, but they seemed to be landing a bit away from us, so we didn’t need to move. And the objects that fell with violent impact and shaking from the sky turned out to be Chimeras, not dragons this time, but these Chimeras were formed by forcibly combining multiple dragons, similar to the ones we fought in the Beast King’s country before.
Moreover, two of them fell, and the soldiers, including Reus and the Beast King, immediately tensed, holding their weapons, as they were familiar with this bizarre sight.
“Everyone, move away! Those creatures won’t die from just falling!” (Lior)
“Jii-chan! What about Nee-chan—… huh?” (Reus)
“What’s this? They’re not healing like before?” (Lior)
Unlike wounds healing instantly, the Chimeras, similar to Lambda who would regenerate even if their heads were cut off, showed no signs of regeneration after falling. However, that was to be expected. Upon closer inspection, the bodies of the Chimeras had large holes, and their cores, the source of life activity and self-regeneration, had been destroyed.
These two fell from the sky, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable to assume they were finished off. But during the battle, the [Search] reaction showed that there were three dragon-like Chimera. While pondering this, the last one fell, but at the same time, Zenodora and Mexia also fell together.
“Get off me! Hurry up, Zenodora!” (Mexia)
“Sleep!” (Zenodora)
Mexia entangled the wings and neck of the Chimera, immobilizing it, while Zenodora, which had been attached to the body, bit into the enemy’s chest, and the three combined entities crashed to the ground. Afterward, Zenodora raised its head, crushed the magic stone it was holding in its mouth, and exhaled deeply while looking down at the silent Chimera.
(Thank you for reading at bayabuscotranslation.com)
“Phew… we managed to settle this somehow.” (Zenodora)
“Yeah. Let’s get back to the sky… Damn it!” (Mexia)
It seemed that even Zenodora and the others, covered not only in blood but also in wounds due to the fierce battle, were considerably exhausted. Mexiaa, in particular, seemed unable to fly, probably due to his damaged wings, and he looked frustrated as he gazed up at the sky. At that moment, Zenodora and Mexia, who seemed to finally notice our presence, slowly got up and approached us.
“It seems you all are unharmed as well. By the way, what’s the reason for everyone gathering in a place like this?” (Zenodora)
“We’ve defeated all the ones controlling the monsters, so we’re gathering here for now. And it’s all thanks to you dragons holding the line in the sky.” (Sirius)
“That’s right! All that’s left are the monsters!” (Reus)
“We appreciate the information. Frankly speaking, we’re also in a bit of a tough situation.” (Zenodora)
“Then it’s best to treat your wounds a little. Someone, use healing magic!” (Julia)
It seemed like they were concerned about the situation in the sky, but just like on the ground, the airborne monsters seemed to be in a state of confusion, so there should be some leeway. While those who could use healing magic were called upon by Julia’s instructions, I, who had started eating homemade portable rations after hydrating, was approached by Sanger with a slightly incredulous expression.
“You’re amazing. Can you eat even in a situation like this?” (Sanger)
“I have to eat; it affects my future actions. I’m sorry, but could I have some of the water and portable rations that the unit has?” (Sirius)
“Huh?! You’re still eating?” (Sanger)
“That’s one reason, but we still need to keep moving forward.” (Sirius)
“Shishou, instead of rushing, wouldn’t it be better to rest here for a while?” (Albert)
“Hmm. You’ve achieved the greatest success in this battle. Why don’t you take a break for a while and leave it to Fort and Cayenne?” (Sanger)
It was a word of concern for me, but there were still many things I needed to do. Knowing that, Emilia, who was aware of it, silently prepared my belongings and filled the water bottle. Perhaps feeling uneasy about our situation, Reus turned to me with a solemn expression.
“Hey, Aniki. What… um…” (Reus)
“Oh, right. I haven’t explained it to everyone yet. I’m planning to head to the Demon Continent.” (Sirius)
“What?!”
Speaking calmly about heading to the Demon Continent, a place known as the nest of monsters, in this situation, I left everyone speechless. They would probably try to stop me right away, but before that, I approached Lambda, whose life had ended, and reached into the decayed wooden fragments that had once been his body to retrieve something. It was a palm-sized, blood-red stone, resembling blood, that I pulled out.
“Is that a mana stone? I’ve never seen such a menacingly colored magic stone before.” (Emilia)
“Wait a minute! There’s no way what was inside that guy’s body was something normal. Destroy it quickly!” (Keith)
“Calm down, Keith. Hey, Aniki, could it be that that’s what controls the monsters?” (Reus)
“That’s right. It’s a magic stone inscribed with a magic circle that controls monsters.” (Sirius)
Even I, with my knowledge of magical artifacts, found it difficult to comprehend the highly advanced and complex magic circles inscribed on the magic stone. This was something I learned from Lambda when I was questioning him, and I also learned its effects and how to use it. Upon informing everyone, most seemed to understand what I wanted to do.
“I see! You’re going to use that to send the monsters back to the Demon Continent!” (Reus)
“That’s right. When you think about it, we’re not fighting to exterminate the monsters.” (Emilia)
“…Will it really work?” (Sanger)
However, perhaps recalling Lambda’s actions, some of them showed a hint of doubt. While they were indeed controlling the monsters, the effects of this magic circle had a limited range. That’s why the enemy had placed the Chimeras inscribed with the same magic circle all over the battlefield. Some individuals seemed to have noticed another potential issue and were calmly assessing the situation.
“Even if we command the monsters to return, won’t they revert back if they go beyond the range of the effect?” (Sanger)
“Yes, indeed. The monsters on the battlefield are in chaos because of that.” (Sirius)
“So, if we send them back to the Demon Continent, we’ll have to stay close to the monsters all the time… Wait, Aniki?!” (Reus)
Yes, unless we were somewhat close, we wouldn’t be able to guide the monsters, so ultimately, I needed to go to the Demon Continent along with the monsters. Having understood the true meaning of the words I had spoken earlier, Reus and the others rushed to me in a panicked state, but Albert noticed something and made a suggestion.
“Shishou! If we stop the movement of the monsters, wouldn’t we be able to defeat them safely no matter how many there are?” (Albert)
“That would be great if we could do that, but unfortunately, this magic stone is suspicious.” (Sirius)
Upon closer inspection, some parts of the magic stone were damaged, with small cracks visible. Perhaps it was due to the excessive use of the magic stone or the aftermath of my [Lightning Bullet].
“The crucial parts of the magic circle seem to be intact, so I think it will activate, but with this damage, there’s a possibility it won’t last a day, two days, or even half a day. Within this uncertain time, how many of the monsters leading to the Demon Continent can we deal with?” (Sirius)
“But, Aniki, if we all do it together…” (Reus)
“Then tell me, how much longer can you fight?” (Sirius)
Most of the people here were already heavily wounded, and Zenodora and Mexia were also nearing their limits. The three dragons fighting in the sky were probably in a similar situation. Even if we left it to the other soldiers to rest, it would likely take almost a day for them to fully recover.
“What I’m trying to do is not exterminate the monsters but manipulate the situation. Therefore, what’s required are mobility in enemy territory, quick decision-making, experience, and endurance. Let me be clear. With your current condition, you would only be a hindrance.” (Sirius)
“But, you must be tired from your fight with him as well.” (Emilia)
“I’m not in perfect condition, but I’ve experienced this level of recklessness many times before. Besides, I’m not going alone.” (Sirius)
With a light whistle, Hokuto, who had been scattering monsters for disruption, returned. His fur was somewhat disheveled from fighting since early morning, giving him the appearance of a seasoned warrior covered in splattered blood. Nevertheless, he didn’t seem to be injured, so I felt relieved as I stroked his head when he approached, and then glanced at Reus and the others, who were wearing complex expressions.
“With Hokuto’s speed, it won’t be too difficult to keep running away from the monsters. I’m not intending to sacrifice myself, so please rest assured.” (Sirius)
“Then, at least take the Jii-san there with you. He’s still full of energy.” (Albert)
“That’s right! Since we’re heading to a continent full of monsters, having more firepower would be better.” (??)
“We need the Jii-san’s strength here. The magic stone’s command may not work, and there should be remaining monsters.” (Sirius)
In the first place, that old man isn’t suited for covert operations. After explaining the future course of action and the need for sufficient forces to allow everyone to rest, everyone was left speechless. Even though they understood it in their heads, their expressions clearly showed that they weren’t completely convinced.
“Why… why does Aniki have to go that far…” (Reus)
“It’s something that someone has to do. And among us, I believe I have the highest chance of returning alive from the Demon Continent.” (Sirius)
Silence followed my words as Reus and the others stood speechless.
I didn’t want to be a man who did nothing out of self-preservation, and I didn’t want to show such a back to my disciples.
Ignoring Leus and the others, Emilia finished packing the provisions we had received from the unit and stood right beside me.
“Sirius-sama, everything you need is ready.” (Emilia)
“Thank you. You’ve gone through the trouble.” (Sirius)
“Nee-chan! Is it… alright for you?” (Reus)
“All decisions are made by Sirius-sama. So, I… trust the leader and just see him off.” (Emilia)
Emilia spoke calmly, but Reus and the others noticed that her ears and tail were trembling slightly. Seeing Reus’s emotions, who seemed unable to say anything, Emilia’s lips softened a little as she continued.
“But just one thing, not as a servant but as a wife, may I make a selfish request?” (Emilia_
“Huh?” (Sirius)
“Just a little time of yours. We’ve pushed the front line this far, so soon… It’s good. Looks like we made it in time.” (Emilia)
As Emilia directed her gaze toward Sandor’s direction, two shadows flew towards us at a height safe from being targeted by the aerial monsters. It was Fia and Reese, who had flown using the power of the wind spirits, and Karen was also being carried by Fia.
“Phew… even though it was full of monsters, weren’t you scared?” (Fia)
“I’m fine!” (Karen)
“Haha, you’re reliable.” (Reese)
“Reese-san!? And why are Fia-san and Karen-chan here?” (Reus)
“I called them. I’ve already explained everything to Sirius-sama.” (Emilia)
As soon as she heard that I was heading to the Demon Continent, Emilia immediately used a magical tool inscribed with the “Call” magic circle to inform Reese and Fia of the current situation. Although I couldn’t hear the details as we were at a distance, it seemed she provided them with a detailed explanation of the situation. Using that information, they managed to avoid the monsters and safely reached us. While everyone was surprised, the three who landed in front of me seemed to be fine, but I noticed that Reese was quite fatigued.
“Looks like Reese overdid it quite a bit.” (Sirius)
“Nee-sama said that too, but didn’t we all overdo it? So, just let me see you for a bit, okay?” (Reese)
“Ah…” (Sirius)
I had received countless wounds from the battle with Lambda, but I had already stopped the bleeding, and since I was revitalizing my body with magic, they would heal soon enough. So normally, I should refuse, as I didn’t want her to push herself further, but this time, I wanted to let Reese do as she wished. Water extended from her hand enveloped my body, not only treating the wounds but also cleansing the dirt from my body. Once she finished, Reese seemed to exhaust her strength, so I held her close before she could collapse.
“Thank you. That’s enough.” (Sirius)
“Yeah. Hey, really… are you going?”
“Yeah. Now that we’ve come this far, I want to do as much as I can. Besides, if we can reduce the fights with monsters, it will reduce the burden on the injured, including Reese.” (Sirius)
The gentle-hearted wife, Reese, who couldn’t bear to leave the injured, had her warmth engraved into my heart. After hugging her a little tighter as if to etch her into my soul, I gently kissed her forehead as she looked up at me with moist eyes. I probably should have said it aloud, but Reese was still not used to such things, so I decided to keep it modest.
“Eek!?” (Reese)
“It may sound a bit affected, but at times like this, it’s important to convey your feelings properly.” (Sirius)
“Of course. So, next, it’s my turn. Oh, sorry, Emilia…” (Reese)
“Please go ahead.” (Emilia)
“What are you doing to me?!” (Karen)
“Haha, as expected. Well then, without reservation… there.” (Fia)
Confirming Emilia who was gently covering Karen’s eyes, as if forcibly turning her face to the side, I was kissed by Reese, almost like she was taking it from Fia.
As I inwardly chuckled at her usual passionate demeanor, Fia’s smiling expression turned serious.
“Don’t go… I won’t say that. Even if something were to happen to you, I… no, we, are prepared to raise this child even if I’m alone.” (Fia)
“You’re strong… Fia.” (Sirius)
“I’ve said it before, but because I’m going to be a mother. But let me say this. Don’t make this child fatherless. This child… inherits your blood, after all.” (Fia)
“Of course. By the way, I don’t know what Emilia said to you, but I have no intention of going to die.” (Sirius)
“Even so. Even though you and Hokuto are strong, it’s impossible for me to feel relieved when I hear you’re heading to an island full of monsters.” (Fia)
After Reese nodded several times in agreement, Karen, who was finally released by Emilia, clung to my back. Even though she probably didn’t understand the situation in detail, she seemed to grasp the fact that I was heading to a dangerous place, holding me tightly as if she wouldn’t let go. Perhaps she was feeling more anxious than usual, as her assertiveness was several times stronger than usual.
“You told me not to go to dangerous places, so why does Sensei keep going there?” (Karen)
“Haha, because if I don’t, everyone will be in trouble.” (Sirius)
After separating from Reese and lowering Karen from my back to in front of my chest, I gently admonished her while looking into the eyes of the winged girl. From her eyes, I could feel an indescribable anxiety and sadness, but she didn’t speak the words “Don’t go”. No, perhaps she couldn’t say it after seeing Fia and the others. Impressed by her intelligence, I lifted Karen higher to reassure her. It was the game parents often played with their children, the one where you say “Up high!”
“I’ll be fine as long as I go with Hokuto. So Karen, you stay with everyone else.” (Sirius)
“Yeah…” (Karen)
“And, it’s okay to cry at times like this.” (Sirius)
“……Yeah.” (Karen)
Karen began to shed tears quietly, without making a sound, so I gently pulled her closer to my chest and stroked her head slowly as if to comfort her. I wanted to let her cry a little longer, but we didn’t have much time left, so I was thinking of putting her down soon. Just as I was contemplating, Leus, who had been silently watching our conversation, began to groan with a bitter expression.
“Come on… stop it, Aniki. This feels like… a final farewell, doesn’t it?” (Reus)
“That’s not true, Reus. It’s to imprint a place to return to in Sirius-sama’s heart.” (Emilia)
“Even so…” (Sirius)
“It’s better to regret doing something than not doing it at all. That’s one of Sirius-sama’s words.” (Emilia)
“Ugh…” (Reus)
“Reus, it might be insensitive, but it’s better to speak up when you can.” (Sirius)
No matter how safely we return or how much we engrave it in our hearts, unexpected events can still happen. That’s why I didn’t stop Emilia from calling my wives, and I made sure to convey everything clearly. Of course, there are things I need to tell Leus too, so I slowly extended my fist toward the man who is both my disciple and my brother.
“This isn’t as a teacher, but as a fellow man.” (Sirius)
“Aniki…” (Reus)
“For a little while, I’m entrusting my family to you.” (Sirius)
“Got it…” (Reus)
Reus’s feelings are still unsettled, but he tried to understand my words by firmly bumping his fist against mine.
“However, for now, make sure to rest properly whenever you can. Emilia knows the details.” (Sirius)
“…Understood.” (Reus)
“And Jii-san, if you have the time, look after everyone.” (Sirius)
“Hmph, except Emilia and the young ladies, I couldn’t care less.” (Lior)
Well, Grandpa is only reliable for cleaning up the monsters, so there was nothing more to say. After exchanging brief words with the regretful Julia, Sanger, Albert, and others who were kicking around monsters, as well as the messengers from various battle units, I turned back to mount Hokuto when something clung to my back, accompanied by a slight pain in my shoulder.
“Take care…” (Emilia)
“Yeah.” (Sirius)
After receiving Emilia’s affectionate nibble used by the Silver Wolf Tribe to convey love, I jumped onto Hokuto’s back.

Hi, thank you for starting again =)
Will the demon king also be translated further? This was my favorite *.*

Yes, I will finish World Teacher first with 6 more chapters (5000 words/chapter). Then, I’ll translate Ex Strongest and Demon King interchangeably. Thanks for asking!

You mark 194 as the last chapter, but N-U says it has 214 chapters. Is the 20-chapter difference due to extras or something?

Hi there. Some chapters changed to interlude or intermission in between arcs which I don’t count it as a numbering chapter. I did that since from the beginning of translating this novel, so I’m not going to change the numbering as it will affect every chapter after the first intermission chapter. However, do not worry because the only chapters that I skip translating are the first 20 chapters I think. Thanks for asking.
